It's been a while since I've checked in with my favorite group of fellow under-achievers. 
I've been busier than heck with school. By Friday, I'm pretty well fried mentally & physically. My primary goal for the weekends is to catch up on some sleep. I'm already labled as a smart-assed trouble maker in class.
The difference is, this smart ass is older than most of the instructors. 
Today in my last hour class, we are studying metals and alloys. The instructor gave us a box of items, which we were to identify the type of metals they were. Some were obvious, aluminum, stainless, aluminum alloy etc. One I'm not yet sure what, but it might be magnesium. I laughingly asked the instructor if we could see if it burned easilly.
Oh, I wished I could have got a picture of the expression on his face!!! 
If you recall the boat my son gave me for my birthday. It has a 1974 85 horse Evinrude on it that doesn't have any power trim either. So it is only marginally impressive performance wise. Well, guess what I just bought for the boat:

I scored a deal on E-Bay for a 2000 Johnson 115 from a place only about an hour from my son's in Nashville. He went and picked it up for me. We'll figure out later how & when to get it up here. But time is not now an issue for us. Boating & camping is coming to a close here in da U.P. We have until spring to swap the motors.
I also recently scored a $200 savings compared to new for a used ski-pylon off of Craigs list. And today I recieved an E-Bay, mint condition, propellor that I paid $66 for. A prop that currently retails for over $400!!!! I'll have that grandson of mine waterskiing before he can ride a bike.
Home work is calling me. I'll be lurking around between classes and/or when the instructor isn't looking.
