As you have already found out, the truck is electronically limited to 85 m.p.h. because the tires are only rated up to that speed. This is designed into the truck by Ford, and I am not aware of any way to eliminate it.

I experienced the limiter once. A short time later the Check Engine light came on. When I took it to the dealer he told me it was due to me hitting the limiter. He asked if maybe I was out 4-wheelin and maybe spun the tires in the mud, thus hitting the limit. I said, ....yeah, that's it. I was in the mud.

As stated by Patrick.. the Speed Limiter feature is programed into the PCM, due to tire ratings, I think. My Quadzilla Programmer has a Yes or No option for: Speed Limiter ? Sooo.. I guess it can be programmed out. I chose Yes though, cuz I too think 85 MPH is also fast enough.. for my Dually anywayz.

:dunno
