Not so fast. I started to remove the Right side glow plugs and ran into a problem. The AC evaporator needs to come out and I don't have the recovery tanks and such, so I buttoned up the truck and took it to Ford Dealer to do the job. Now I will be without my truck over the New Years Holidays. Rented a car to get by. Changing the glow plugs is not any sort of job for the average guy with a few tools. It takes knowledge and a GOOD set of tools. I have most of the tools, I thought...

Just had mine diagnosed at Ford. They said the FICM is fried and they are blaming it on a low voltage condition due to dead battery?

Ficm

I know its a little old, but oddly i had my ficm go bad in my truck over this past december/january. would occasionally require a couple cranks to start, but then it got to almost a no-start situation. took it into ford and they called me back, saying it was fixed, all they had to do was reflash it. It was gonna cost me a $50 deductible and they were gonna close the ticket. the weekend came and went. come monday, no start again. after work, and some words with ford, i got the truck started and ran it. it seemed to start better the next day like that. took it into them the next day, and they kept telling me it had no issues. finally come the next monday, they said they couldnt get it to start. kinda sad that made me happy? but anyway, a day later i had it back with a new ficm. i personally think it runs better now too, but i guess it always feels good rolling.
