Is anyone else having coolant leakage problems? Hit the highway in minus 30 celsius weather a couple weeks ago and lost my hot air. Turned around and went back into town to a lube-x and the coolant was down 8 liters (almost 2 gallons).. Haven't noticed any leaks, but it went somewhere.

mysterious coolant leaks quite often turn out to be leak, ing egr coolers or head gaskets. if you cant see coolant hitting the ground while the truck is running in your driveway from an obvious leak point, bring it to the dealer. im sure you are still covered under warranty?

Not sure if warranty will cover it as it would have to be under the engine warranty since I have almost 140,000kms on it. They might cover it, but I have my doubts.

Also noticed my rear pinion seal is leaking now. These North American guys sure make a good case for buying japanese. Sheesh. When's toyota coming out with a heavy duty diesel?? lol

I am on my 3rd radiator. I had a small leak down the inside of my drivers side frame right behind the tow hook. It took me a long time to realize this, the only way I knew was the coolant was down. They replaced it and then it did it again in the exact same spot. I now have 45,000K on it and its no longer covered. I have my fingers crossed!!

there was a thread about the radiator support being too tight (or something like that...) and breaking the radiator, if i remember a few guys had posted with the similar breakage.

Just got my second radiator put in today at 55,000 miles. yes, out of warranty, $1,100 bucks. Does anybody know if the radiators that are being supplied to the dealers are a newer model than what was put in from the factory and hopefully are going to last longer? Thanks in advance.

First they have to get out of the huge mess they are in with the recalls, 37 deaths, brakes failing, etc. Then, when the NHTSA gets done beating the snot out of them, they need to pay for all the new parts and the labor due to the sticking gas pedals and bad brakes. They also have to explain internal company documents with bullet points pertaining to how they saved millions by putting off the recalls. If they survive all that, they need to build a proper 3/4 ton vehicle, design a workable diesel that will pass U.S. emissions requirements, and then market it. Should be any day now. :D

Talked to a fleet mechanic who has changed several and the core support is to stiff so when the frame flexes it blows the seams on the end of the radiator I forget how he said he fixes it. Just replacing the radiator doesn't fix the actual issue and this is one of the reasons he doesn't work at a dealership anymore.
