 Holly "Intake" Batman.. What vociferously verbose debate and diatribe(s).. concerning a simple combustion air induction modification.. that Is, in the end, ones individual choice to accomplish.. or ignore.... Irregardless of it's efficiency quotients.

;):lmao:lmao

It is one's individual choice, however if the forum is to be helpful - we don't need wild conclusions with questionable merit. Some newcomer with marginal mechanical know how might just buy in......

Jetpilot: first off i think you are rude. you never seem to like anything anyone has to say and seems to me that your opinion is the only one that matters. if this puts me in a bad light - sorry all.

secondly, i DID have a typing error. i was going off of memory, tired, frustrating day/whatnot - and i said i had proof. the modification was done in march of 2008. for the last 45,000+ miles i have been putting in 8 oz. of diesel kleen (white) every tank and the winter fuel is the only other thing that has changed.

for those of you who like me and what i have to say, and insight i have to offer - THANK YOU.

below is some of my personal info....

read/decifer/mull over/nitpick - make your own conclusions.... i know what i have done to the truck, and what works and does not work for me. i do not feel the need to lie about anything. most of you know of my early trials and tribulations - and for me to see this improvement w/ cutting 2 holes behind my grill - was encouraging.

Most of us that know and respect your posts Red6 0-no knew it was a typo/error; don't sweat it. ANYimprovement in mileage is a great thing. I did the mod but never charted MPG improvement as you did. I don't drive very conservatively and most of the time don't want to know my MPG. What I like about the mod is that the faster you go, the more air your cramming!! YeeHaa! Bob

I did a large zoodad mod in my grill support too. I believe I used a 2-1/2 inch hole saw and did 2 holes about 3 inch on center and cut the middle piece out. I didn't notice a mileage change too much, but I idle allot and have varying driving routines, so I wasn't planning on seeing a change.

One thing I did have, driving in a blizzard this winter I had the check filter light come on from sucking snow into the intake, causing the restriction meter to pull in. I cleared the snow off when I got to my destination and returned home, it may have done it again, don't remember.

Red6-0no, I appreciate your posts and respect your opinions, don't think I even have issues with em!
