We are on the same line, just coming at the same conclusion from a different way.Our trucks unfortantly, are completely different, that was my original point, pop the hood on my sons 2007, 6.0l and then look at my 6.4l, the weight in the truck went up because of the extra computers in my truck.And don't forget, you said water was a factor, yes it is but the 08's have a computer monitered water seperator in the fuel line that the older trucks don't have to empty mine occasionally.Your truck is so much more simplier and efficent than mine, that is where I am jealous. Is pulling up to the pump and putting in B20 for the first time going to clog a filter, agree with you, don't think so, internet hype. But as you touched on, the goverment and the manufactors have to get on the same page with these trucks and fuel, I don't think one has a clue as to the other. Thanks, been a great debate, too bad were not setting across a table shareing a couple beers, I think it would be fun. Would like to here more

If you get to Texas, I'll buy the first round! I love the look and feel of your model but do like the simplicity of mine. Even with my broken driver's door handle!

Sounds like a good reason to take a road trip, suppose to have some realitives around the gulf coast but a guy with a Ford buying the first round sounds a lot better! Maybe some day......

It's not hostility. It's a dislike for lawyers in general in our ever increasing litigious society.

The issue with the newer trucks is with higher levels( say 50% or better) of BD. Prior to 2011 the regen cycles would inject fuel late in the exhaust cycle having it vaporize and travel down to the DPF. The problem is BD vaporizes at a higher temp, too high for that late in the cycle. This ended up contaminating the engine oil when BD didn't vaporize.Some owners using 100% BD have seen an increase of oil volume between oil chages as much as 2-4 quarts! The lower levels 5-20 % haven't seen those kind of problems.

As for the filter plugging. My truck had 50,000 miles on it when I started using BD. I started at 5% and over 4 months increased to 50%. Once I hit 50% I started seeing plugged filters every 2-3rd tank. for a few months. Once it got cleaned out, I haven't had any problems. I make my own fuel, however my fuel always passes a set of tests that are highly indicative of ability to pass ASTM tests, before I use it.
