Guys.. I work in northern alberta. We run a fleet of strictly superdutys, and we are running into one big problem. We are constantly having trouble with the abs systems in these trucks, specifically wiring. All of the gravel we run on chews up sensors and wiring like nobodys bussiness. Has anybody out there found a sheild kit to protect sensors? Is it possible to completely disconnect the abs system so that the light in the dash goes out? We would never fix the pos systems again, but when that stupid light is on in the dash, the DOT roadside cops constantly write us tickets. There has gotta be a better way!. Any help or suggestions would be great, i am at my wits end with this.

I don't know. If you disable the ABS system and somebody gets hurt, are you willing to risk a lawsuit? Brakes are something I wouldn't tamper with for that reason.

I have a Polaris ATV and in my year, you had to engage the brake before you changed the shifter from out of Park or into it. My wife's machine was 1 year later and you could shift at will. Polaris shops would NOT touch it because they said it was considered a safety system and didn't want to be responsible for it, no way, no how.

Try running some wire loom over the problem areas. That should at least make it take longer for gravel to kill the wiring.
