Im not sure. I dont think the hub assembly has been changed or at least in the last 100k. I think I had the ball joints or tie rods replaced about 20k ago. I used to have a nasty steering wheel wobble until I had them replaced. Not sure which was replaced.

It was the ball joints that were replaced 20k ago. Must be axle loose in hub bearing. Does that mean replace Hub assembly?

I checked the passenger side UV joint and it moves up and down about a 1/4 of an inch. Do I need a new hub assembly or something else? Any help would be great. My family is going on a 2400 mile round trip and would like to make it safely. Thanks for any help you can give.

dude, take it to your repair shop and tell them that corner is done and you need it fixed. we cant reach through the computer and fix it for you. we have done all we can. either its a hub or a ball doesn't matter it needs to get fixed, even if your going on a 24mi trip.

Im not asking for you to fix my truck. I just wanted to know from people who might have had this problem! I want to know which parts that I need to buy to repair it. I dont like buying parts that I dont need. I fix EVERYTHING that I have tools for. So I wont take to a shop unless absolutely necessary!

I had the exact same problem @ 76,000 miles. Always around 60 - 62 MPH (about the RPM that you identified). Changed the U-joints, aligned the tires, balanced the tires, rotated the tires, new ball joints, wash and waxed the truck (just kidding about that one) and the sound still persisted. Drove round trip Mass. to Mich. then had to replace the u-joints again. We then looked at the drive shaft and found the problem. There are small welded-on weights (they look like drops of steel) for balancing the drive shaft. Two were missing. I had the shaft rebalanced (about $125.00) and no problems ever since. When you inspect the shaft it is pretty evident where they were welded and then broken off. Mine were missing on the rear of the shaft - mechanic said this sometimes happens when driving through snow banks or mud holes.

Thats good to know...cause im having a vibration anytime i get at, or above 2500 rpm's (chip on/off, load/no load)...and it shakes the rear end.

i really hope its not transmission related, and this is encouraging to hear.:sweet

Im glad you got yours fixed. But this vibration/noise is in the front passenger side of truck not the rear. Im going to order a new Hub Assembly and see if it fixes it. Thanks for the help guys.
