do the turn signals work?
if so, brake lamp switch on the pedal

if not, turn signal switch.

exactly or a poorly installed alarm or remote start.

If your truck is an automatic then failure @ the brake switch may leave you stranded unable to get the truck out of park... guess how I know :rant

had that happen on my old car carrier.stopped to count out enough change for a coffee.got my change ready and go to pull out and couldnt get the truck out of park.got pissed and wrenched the shifter, snapped the pin off the shift lock.found out i had no brake lights but my tranny shifted fine.spent the day lookin for broken wires cuz it kept poppin the fuse.had the dash apart, ripped open wire harnesses and found nothing wrong.decided to snipt the wires to my drag light plug and everything worked.got salty slushy water in the plug and shorted it out.man was i mad :rant

I'm just wondering if the brake light is out also?

When my turn signal switch went out causing the brakes not to work the turn signals worked. The hazard lights was the gremlin when you turned on the hazard lights the right indicator on the dash wouldn't flash.

a little money saving tip.if you do end up need the turn signal switch(multi-function switch) take it out and open it up.clean all contacts inside with some carb cleaner and lightly sand them or use steel wool or something.clean it again.dab some di-electric grease or a light wheel bearing grease on it and put it back together.same thing if you delay wipers aint workin, open it up and solder the broken wires back together.although the switch was only 40 bux last time i checked but no sense spending 40 bux when you can fix it for 5 or 10
