So I had the same work done under Ford warranty. Got the upgraded ARP studs with new gaskets and still managed to warp the heads with only the banks IC installed. too much boost and too much backpressure. Good luck

9-12K for head gaskets!! Does it REALLY cost that much!?

If I find that the issue I am having is the same, I don't know what I am going to do! 9K-12K ! Lord!

No. Should be around 4 to 5K. Dealer told me 5k on my 04 and I supply the ARP bolts. That just for the HG. If the heads are messed up then add about a $1400.+/- per head if replacement is needed.

For 12K you can buy a new motor from ford with heads.

Just checked my Local Ford Dealer. 3,500.00, Labor and parts for Head gaskets. That is better than 9-12K but still...Sheesh!

There is a lot of work in replacing head gaskets and adding studs. The cab has to be lifted to get the heads off and back on. Can you do it?

I'll give just about anything a shot once. If I liked it, I'll do it again.

BUT in this case..... Since I have never dug into an engine like this, nor do I profess to be Diesel Mechanic....I'll watch and moan about the money.... :coffee

If the dealer does it and something happens any dealership should fix it..

I know what you mean by moaning about the money. I would lift the cab and do it myself if I was in my 30's, but I have left that age in the dust. :pb
