Thank you for the hello gents!

Thank you gentlemen. Mine is a work truck I inherited with the job, but we have 2 1999 f550s 7.3, 3 2004 f550 6.0, 1 2008 f550 6.4, and 1 2011 f550 6.7, so everything diesel is interesting to me. (Note that I am very happy with the old 7.3, cant tell you all the fuss we have had with the newer ones). We have a company mechanic, but he is at our main office 50 miles away, while I am at a satelite yard in Fontana, Ca. Main office loves it when I can fix something minor myself, and save the 3 hour round trip drive for the mechanic, who is usually swamped. I work for a small railroad construction company.

Rich, my heart goes to you for your Mom. Lost my Dad in 2004, a diesel/construction mechanic all his life.

Been busy trying to get all my stuff in one place to move. I've been through three house offers in Tennessee, all three have busted deals with something or another. It's a seven hour drive from the Florida panhandle to the Sequatchie Valley of Tennessee. So driving, house hunting, and taking things apart for moving have taken up the majority of my time. Still here, though. Hope that the economy improves in 2012, there are lots of new toys to get, and now with the new house I hope to close on in two weeks, I have (get this) a three car detached garage with a loft above, on top of the two car attached garage that will be where my wife parks her car. The perfect house complete with the makings of a man cave...all of the time and effort and money to find the new house might indeed be worth it.

There is a different Satellite Service called Wild Blue High-Speed Internet Service | WildBlue | Official Website Several of my friends have this and it is not bad.

I had it, it was better than dial up and much better than Hughes Net. Good people to deal with, too! But if online gaming or streaming movies is your thing, not so good. When DSL came through to service my rural home, I switched. Now that I'm moving to Tennessee, I live in the mountains, but have cable internet. The Chattanooga area has some of the best internet access in the U.S., if you live in town you can get 1 gig/sec download speed delivered via fiber optic cable to the house.

Hello Ray, sorry for the Hijack, but how far from Chattanooga will you be living?
When I was working I had a run from Little Rock, AR to Chattanooga, TN. and loved it over there.

I hop on Tennesee Route 28 to I-24 East, and I'm in downtown Chattanooga in 25 minutes. The house is in the valley on the west side of Signal Mountain.

I'm far enough away from the city, but close enough to enjoy all it has to offer. For what I'm paying for 3/4 acre and nearly 3000 square feet of buildings, I could only afford a 1200 square foot house on an 100x70 foot lot in Florida. No brainer there.

you've made the move I hope to make one day I just have to convince my wife, though every time the property tax statement or estimate shows up I get a bit closer. It is astonishing the difference in what you can buy when you get away from FL.

Hey atk, good to see you again. Not a whole lot happening, just a few tidbits (Tail Gunner went to a GMC Truck!).
