I have a 2003 F250 Super Duty

So 2 days ago the truck started fine but then yesterday and today the truck wont start. When the key is in and I turn it, everything turns on like normal, and when i turn to start then nothing happens at all. No sound no crank no nothing.

The batteries are fine, the alternator is fine. I thought it might be the ignition switch so I got a new one and its doing the same thing, so Im leaning towards the starter now. But the thing is before yesterday the starter was working fine and didnt make any weird noises..

also Ive tried to start it in neutral and pushed it to park more to see if it would start and nothing..

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Have you scraped & cleaned the Battery posts & clamps already ?

There is a relay going to the starter from the battery that can go bad. It is a lot cheaper than a starter to begin with. Start there before you go and bet a starter. What engine do you have?? Fill out your signature be going to the Quick Links button above.

Not sure what kind of space is down there. Try using jumper cables direct to the starter. If you can access the + post without grounding out? That would tell you if the actual motor is shot. But not the solenoid.

Good Luck.

Check to make sure the starter bolts are tight. In the last six weeks two of my friends have had them back out causing the exact symptoms you are describing. The starter gets its grounding from the engine block.
