I know I have a vacuum problem since my A/C blows out my defrost vents when I first turn it on. However, my A/C does not cool as well as it should and I was wondering if the two problems are connected or if I just need to charge my A/C and fix my vaccum leak. Sorry I cannot give any more details but I noticed the problem a couple of weeks ago and have been gone on a job since then.

Sounds like you have two problems, vacuum and low freon. The vacuum leaks are generally near the hubs, where vacuum locks/unlocks the hubs. Look for a vacuum line at the wheel assy.

That is what I was wanting to hear. Well, not really what I was wanting to hear but I was hoping the two problems were not tied together. First chance I get I will check the hubs and freon level to determine what needs to be done.

Thanks.

Also check up under the glove box. There is a vacume connector there that can get disconnected by the passenger's feet.

Or the one that like to wedge her flip flops under the dash so she can put her feet up. This was after I scolded her for getting the dash dirty.

I appreciate the input. I still have not been around my truck to check it out. My father-in-law has borrowed it, to move hay equipment, and he added some freon to it. He said that it cools much better now. Maybe the next time I am home I will get a chance to check out the vacuum leak.

:welcome2 jccapri. Glad you joined up. Air going through the defrosters is a vacuum problem. Check your vacuum pump and reservoir.

fixed

will i know what it is it is the valve that is under the hood on the right side it has 2 vaccum lines and a wiring plug undo the vac hoses and stop up the red one and the vents will start working . IT IS CALLED A PULSE VACUUM HUB LOCK SOLENOID it goes bad when the lines on the axle hub has a hole and dirt gits sucked in to the solenoid.
