No Start after ran out of fuel....

Hey guys I'm new to this site, I'm a member at one of another site and while searching for some answers found you guys. I know I'm new here but I need some help please!

Please don't lecture me on running out or even low on fuel.....I KNOW, I KNOW, I KNOW....it's bad enough I have to deal with it now, been reading everywhere online and couldn't find the exact same issue...been banging my head against the wall.

I have an '05 Excursion with the 6.0l. I was low on fuel and 100 yards from the station and the engine shut off due to fuel starvation. Got it pushed to the pump and put in 1/2 tank. KOEO 5-7 times, wouldn't start, towed it home....I'm fairly mechanical, do all my own maintenance, trying to avoid big $$$ at the dealer just to re-prime the fuel lines.
Info: 5k on the filters....fuel getting to 2nd filter bowl. all fuses good. batts good but recharging now due to cranking... Assuming my only problem is air in the lines....I read in a forum thread that I need to pull the back two injectors and KOEO to purge the air out, also to crack open the oil filter housing to release pressure since the HPOP plays a part in firing the injectors.
I tried unplugging the ICP sensor (to default the reading to 500psi) no start.

Battery voltage was getting low (11.7) so I went on vacation for 4 days and the truck has been sitting...I want to give it my best shot tomorrow after I charge the batteries before I tow it to the dealer.....

My dealer won't tell me anything because they want me to bring it in....please advise!

I've read to pull the rear injectors to let air out and I've read that I shouldn't have to.....so IDK

oh, and oil pressure does show up on dash gauge with extended cranking, i have not cranked longer than 30 sec as I don't want to blow the starter...

i know on the older cummins you have to pull a couple injectors...buuut thats a cummins. whats weird is my old PS 7.3 i ran that sucker out of fuel a bunch on back country roads and never had a problem restarting...sorry bud...if you are mechanical yank the back 2 injectors and see if you can bleed the air.... :dunno

Update:
I was getting fuel in the 2nd bowl but changed the filters just in case....they were NASTY dirty, especially the frame mounter one. Only had 5k miles on it but it picked up all the crap from the tank when I ran out of fuel.

I was continuing to get air when priming, changed drain plug as I could here air sucking in when the pump was running. old one was rusted/worn away....new plug fits tight and no air noise when the pump runs.

Checked FICM voltage with KOEO and it is at 48 volts, so that's good...

Pulled EGR, it was nasty as expected, cleaned and replaced.

I get oil pressure with extended crank on dash.

In test mode engine RPM is 165ish when extended cranking...

These are the codes I get from the ODO display:
P0027 Exhaust Valve Control Solenoid Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1)
P0058 HO2S Heater Control Circuit High (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
P0059 HO2S Heater Resistance (Bank 2 Sensor 1)
P0073 Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit High
P0262 Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit High
and these unknown codes of:
9352 & 9360

No codes from my Bully Dog (I returned to stock program)

Anyone have any other ideas of what I can try?
I really don't want to take it to the dealer just for them to start throwing parts at it at my expense....

Make sure your batteries are FULLY charged. Low voltage will cause all sorts of problems.

Ive got the optima red tops and they are about 2 years old, going to take them to Advanced Auto and get checked, will get new replacements under their 3 year warranty if bad...

Have you checked the Electric Fuel Pump there is two places it could be in the tank or frame mount.

If your batteries can not crank at 500 rpm or better, you will get a no-start all day long. That is why I asked if your batteries are fully charged.

I'll have to take the batteries in to test them and get replaced under the optima warr... Just because they are charged doesn't mean they are good...voltage can be there but not the amps

Well the batteries were "good" but only putting out 749CCA & 840CCA and they didn't want to replace them but I persuaded them to since a new one tested out at 1140CCA....the guy was trying to tell me my alternator was bad and causing no start.....
I won't be able to try the new batteries until the morning...

sounds like the frame mounted fuel pump. Mine went out with no warning a couple years ago. I was still getting a little fuel to the top of the motor but obviously wasnt enough...
