05 with 110k on the clock, pmt with a 48v 40hp tuned ficm.
go to accelerate medium to heavy and she seems to starve for fuel... fuel filters are new, less than 5k. not throwing any codes according to the pmt... need to try and get to my buddies to double check with his scan tool.

bassically the sound is...well kinda how a gas sounds when you romp on it and its missfiring... weird...

any help would be great. thanks.

Dirty EGR valve? They do the missing under hard acceleration bit. Easy to remove and wire brush clean it. Do not soak the top part in solvent, as that is where the electrics are.

ive done the egr delete. i dont think the pmt can read fuel pressure...

just spoke to my mechanic on the phone (going to try and go over tomorrow to see him)
he said it sounds like my coil packs have burned up and probably bc of my 58v ficm...
i hope its not that, i boasted about the company that sold it to me and great it was and yada yada... hope coil packs aint expensive...oh well, we will know for sure hopefully tomorrow... sure would hate to trade it in... then again the 6.7 is quite nice...lol
get back at yall tomorrow...

Coil packs??? I think I would find a new mechanic. If he's talking about the injector coils the only way to replace them is to replace the injectors and that's a pretty expensive proposition. Get a fuel pressure gauge on the truck and find out if it's starving for fuel and I believe that one of the PIDS for the ECM is fuel pressure if you have the correct software to be able to read it.

I had this problem with my '02 F-450. it ended up being the screens in the fuel tank were plugged beyond belief. My mechanic couldn't believe the truck still ran. It would suddenly die, and started real hard. Might be worth looking into.
