Lets asume all injectors are good, if i buzz the injectors cold will they all buzz the same or can there be some variance? I have buzzed several trucks cold and hear a couple weak injectors, get the engined warmed up and they all seem to buzz good, does this indicated bad injectors?

Thanks
Neal

Here is MY thoughts on this. I would say YES, weak cold buzzing would indicate a COLD START problem with those injectors. One of the hardest things we do to an engine is ask it to start cold and quickly. This requires a good mix of fuel and air. A weak injector will not do this. Change them and you will see a big improvement in cold starting.

Thanks for the input. i do not know what i would go with for myself. the ones that i tested for other people , they would stay stock and i still dont know where to get them. there is a place locally in Canton ohio called DCI (Diesel Control Inc) they are supposed to be pretty good, and they are local if i had any problems

If I had your truck, I would atleast go with stage 1 injectors with all your mods.

A. Yes, some.

2. I have buzzed several trucks cold and hear a couple weak injectors, get the engined warmed up and they all seem to buzz good, does this indicated bad injectors?

B. No, not necessarily.

Thanks
Neal

My thinking ?:

The Operating Principle of a Diesel engine is HEAT. (a given)

As long as ALL 8 injectors respond to a Buzz test, Cold.. yer Good To Go. (some variance may be noted)

After the engine is at Operating Temp, [after being driven].. ALL 8 injectors should respond Equaly to a Buzz test.

Battery condition, Glow Plugs, Glow Plug Relay, Fuel psi, and HPOP psi are also important.

Current Ambient air temps.. how long the engine has been shut down, is also worthy of note, due to air~fuel issues and the effects of block cold soaking.

thats kinda what i was thinkin prolly 2's all i will need fuel and HP oil updates

Per my Sig.. I went with the single shot (Swamps) injectors, the BB turbo and the Adrenaline HPOP. Very good set-up.. eliminated all the 7.3 Gremlins that were little, but naging Monkey's On My Back.

No Harm, Nor Foul, but @ 175K on the clock.. unless this "'ol Corn-binder" windows the block.. Money Well Spent.. as compared to "Work'n the Deal" against MSRP + Cali Tax.. for a new one.. I'll stay with "'ol Whitey" ;tu;tu (unless of course I win the Lotto :sly;):lmao)

Joe

(a regulated return is next.... maybe ?)
