I'm replacing the UVC harnesses glow plugs and valvew cover gaskets. Do I need to worry about the small amount of oil that gets into the cylinder before installing the new glow plugs?

No, it will burn out when you fire it up.

Just make sure the oil does not flow into the glow plug hole. Use a rag to mop it up if you have a small puddle.

Are glow plugs all that hard to change? And with replacing them do I also need to replace any gaskets?

valve cover gaskets are reusable IF they are not damaged, they are not cheap
