Does anyone have an experience with the 3.5 EcoBoost V-6? My youngest son traded his 2010 F-150 XLT SuperCab on a 2012 F-150 XLT SuperCrew with Chrome Package. This is his first used vehicle, his first truck was a 99 F-150. It's got 2500 miles, the previous owner traded it into a local Dodge dealer for a 2500 Diesel. He got lucky because the internet price was $27,895 and they were supposed to mark it at $29,895. We took a short ride in it Saturday and when the turbo kicks in, it will push you back into the seat. There isn't any reports or insurance claims on it, so he feels safe with it. Probably saved close to 8-10K over the price of a 2013 just like it. My parents have one and I'll agree...it's got plenty of power. I'm really amazed at how well it pulls hills. Never pulled anything with it but I know it'll do the job.

For the negative...I don't think the mileage is all cracked up to what they advertise, but you might have better luck with a 2wd and 18in rims. Other thing...changing the oil is a real pain in the butt...oil gets everywhere

Co-worker has the eco-boost in his new truck. He is currently getting 18 mpg (solo). I told him I get 21.5 in my 7.3L PSD. (solo). I don't see the eco-boost being that impressive in the fuel consumption area.

Just my 2 cents.

The mileage depends heavily upon the driver, just like the PSD if you're in the boost on every acceleration then you're going to pay for the fuel. The guys I know with them all say they tow well for the 1/2 ton they are and can hold their own head to head with gas powered 3/4 ton trucks when towing under 7k. When towing mileage is about what you'd expect from a gas motor 10ish or so.

Having driven a few around they are nice but I'm not jumping to replace my truck with on especially since my truck isn't a daily driver
