Hi Superduty Dudes (and Dudettes)!

I am fairly new here and am doing a fair bit of research into tuners for the 6.4. So far in my research, all I am hearing/reading are the good reasons and the great successes people have had installing tuners and deleting the dpf. But there has got to be some who are kicking themselves for doing it. Perhaps the performance is not what was expected or their truck got damaged and their warranty is no longer worth anything.
You folks must have or a least know of some stories worth telling. I guess I am looking for someone to talk me out doing what I am about to do.

Thanks

Got two friends with tuned 6.4's, one with an H&S tuner and 1 with a Spartan. Both made about the same on the dyno 550/1150 at the wheels with hot tunes. Spartan shows almost no smoke, H&S rolls the coal good. The H&S tuned truck has toasted one trans so far and both trucks have about the same mileage and are used to pull race cars for play and backhoes for work. i like driving the Spartan tuned truck better. Either way they really wake up with a tuner. I only wish our 6.0's could have this kind of power on tap every day.

Absolutely

None! I wish I would've done it sooner. My second tuned truck. My first was a '99 7.3. I went overboard on that one. The 6.4 H&S mini maxx and dpf and cat delete. The difference is unbelievable even set on no power just deleted. Don't look back!

Spartan tuner running the 275hp with 5" DPF/Cat delete and an AFE stage 2 intake... only issue I had that I wasn't prepared for was the wheel hop. So then I added Pro Comp traction bars and the truck is an animal! had it on for over 30k mi and the mpg is excellent if you don't drive it like a teenager.

I now have 126,000 miles on it and on the hiway if I keep it below 75 mph I can get about 18 mpg out of it.
Combined city/Hwy I can get 16.5 - 17 mpg.

13.5 Highway 65 mph. My truck is an F450 dually with 4.33 rear end ratio. That is up from 10.5 when I bought it with about 14k on it.
