Time for new tires...

I've narrowed it down to the BFG A/T or the BFG Rugged Terrains

Stock size, 95% of the time the truck is on pavement. A/Ts are about $325 and the Ruggeds are $270

Your thoughts?

I put some Falker wildpeak A/T on my 08. There quit, ride great and they grip the road as good as the BFG A/T. Now I did go wider on the tires but keep the same tire height so I did not have to change the spare. Plus they come in a E range and around $250.00 each. I have had some BFG A/T on my 04 but could not get them at a cost I could afford this time.

ended up going with the BFG A/T because the rugged terrains were on back order. the guy cut me a deal thought and i got them for less than i wouldve paied for the ruggeds...they're pretty sweet looking.

dogman, what size did you get? I think the next size up for me wouldve been like a 295/55/20

I stayed stock. I'm sure the next size up wouldve looked cool, but at the end of the day, the stock size on these looks much better than the 265/75/16 did on my 7.3...my old one needed bigger tires just to look normal.

For me, I didnt need the bigger size since I'm on pavement so much and I really didn't want to give up the mileage...because we all know, no matter what you do...you'll never get that mileage back.

JRJ. how'd you do on your purchase? I drove my $60,760 truck off the lot for $41,700. The dealer knocked $13,000 off the sticker price because of a rival dealer having a crazy sale and then gave me $9,800 more for my truck than what I owed on it.

I almost wish I hadn't jumped in on this discussion, cause wouldn't you know that I had to put new sneakers on the Big White Beast today. The low tire indicator came on and when I found the nail it was in the sidewall of the passenger rear. Mrs. Gunner isn't one for having things mismatched so we put 4 new ones on. I wanted to buy 3 new ones and put the full size spare on to make it a 4 pack, just turn them black wall since the spare doesn't have the white letters like the rest. Not happening, 4 new ones.

I was looking for a new truck but none of the dealer here want to deal. Best I could get was 54K and I am not doing truck payment of 1100 a month. I thinking I may go out of state and look or too the state line and look.
