Hi, can anyone tell me if these new PSD's will do a REGEN at city speeds 40-45 mph. Most of my driving will be 45 and under. Thanks.

Yes.. My 012 manual sez the REGEN will cycle best.. at speeds above 30 MPH. The faster the speed, the quicker the REGEN though.

Has to do with RPM and Load on the motor ?

that's why your mileage is low it most likely never completes the regen I know around town once it goes into regen I would have to drive 10-12 miles for it to complete. :(

I try to avoid city driving as much as possible. If you don't get the system hot enough it is possible to have a regen everyday.

you can delete the def and cat. regens on these new ones too? is that a special tuner or will most any of the aftermarket performance tuners do that?

I have seen a message flash on the info display....something about exhaust filter. I assume this is 'regen'. Other than this message, is there a way to know that a regen is happening? I ask because I recently installed an Insight CS and have 4 EGT readings displayed. Driving in the neighbor hood recently I noticed that the temps around the catalyst and DPF were at 1100 degrees. After a little panic, I noticed the little 'R' for regen on the insight. Doesn't seem like a very good idea to pull in the garage, shut the garage door and shut the engine down with the exhaust at 1100 degrees. Just me?

The only other indicator of a REGEN in progress.. after the message is: The MPG's will go in the Toilet to the tune of about.. 1.5 to 2+ MPG's.. During the length of the cycle.

I run the Power Service Cetane Booster in mine [continuously].. It has reduced the >Regen frequency< Waaaay down (cleaner burn), and the Regen Time down to.. just a minute or two. (better burn in the DPF, during Regen?)
