Hi guys i have a new problem with my 2002 F 250 , it seem to want to all most stall from a standing start, eg sitting at light put foot down , it goes then stalls but if i let the pedal off a little bit it picks up again , and this only happens on some times and only on a uphill start. Do not know where to start to look for this problem as it still drive great and goes hard.

Sounds like turbo lag to me. These trucks don't like having the throttle mashed to the flood. The turbo can't react that fast. This is not a Double A Fuel Dragster.

Well Daveben it is all most like a top Fuel Drageter :):) it does it when taking of normaly , give it enough throttle to get going and then stalls back off throttle and it come good , a little like a gas car with a fuel problem

I hate to ask, because I know you have had your truck down under for a long time, but when was the last time you changed your fuel filters?
Do you ever get bad fuel down there like we do here ever now and then.

I'd have to say kinda the same thing.. check the fuel pressure..

and it might not hurt to take a voltmeter and sweep the Throttle Position Sensor

Fuel pressure is good all the time about 70 psi, but it is hard to tell if it is the HPOP is playing up because it drops pressure when it happens , but the motor is shuting down so the HPOP should have all most no Pressure

throttle position sensor is the potentiometer(variable resister) that is on the throttle peddle. the resisitance changes when you push the peddle to give you your throttle. as far as what pins to check and what the resistance should be, im not sure. i hope some one else can chime in

I'm still think'n Fuel Pressure.

Maybe check the O rings in the FPR ?

My 7.3 did what you describe.. Good static fuel pressure.. but under throttle demands.. it would stumble or die.. R&R'd the FPR O rings (a kit from Ford) fixed it..

(the black one on the sleeve had loose piece that would roll during movement)
