Hello all, I have a problem that I need help with. When my gas gauge reads 1/4 full it is actually running out of gas. I know it is probably the defective pick up tube in the tank. I tested this theory by allowing it to do this sputtering thing . And as the tank got lower the sputtering got worse. Then when refilling the tank, the problem went away. I was hoping someone has come across this and can give me instructions on how to drop the tank and repair the tube. I understand the tube is part of the sending unit and is fairly expensive, but have heard that you may be able to use submersible diesel hose and clamp it to the tube with no problems.
