Today is Feb 15th, won't be long now tell it will be camping time again. I paid 1.69.9 for diesel yesterday, so will be looking at
getting truck and fifth-wheel ready for a road trip. I love camping in the spring time.

My wife and I grew up camping with our families and are itching to start this camping season also! Our first trip is in mid March! Im going to have to start looking for 50 amp camp grounds. Unfortunately all of our state parks that we grew up camping at are only 30 amp.

With some Dual A/C setups.. the thermostats can be purdy high tech as to the internals (circuit boards). They're not cheap and can be very sensitive to Good, Clean, Strong volt/amp needs.

Yer call.. but at some point you might think about Surge Protection.. of some sort ? They're not cheap either.. but well worth the investment... Some Camp Grounds and RV Parks [can] have questionable Electrical Service.

Don't ask me how I've learned that. ;)

Joe

Hey Joe. What type of surge protection do you recommend? Brand? Size? Thanks

Ok on surge protectors the one I have found to do the best is 30 or 50 amp RV voltage regulator there a yellow box that sits on the ground, they have capacitors in it to help boost the power level if it drop be low a set voltage to level everything out. The surge guard is not a protector. its a service device to test a problem . if you have one turn it over and read it it says not to be used as a protection device. we get them in here all the time.

My RV is a 50 Amp and I use 30 Amp plugs all the time, "BUT", I only use one AC at a time and turn my water
heater on gas and everything works great. I use the thing called a Dog Leg to go from 30A down to 50A.
A lot of the COE parks now have 50A and if your over 62 you get a 50% discount. I like that.

Last time we went out we just used the bedroom AC on the 30 amp hook up and everything seemed fine. What is this Dog Leg you speak of?

Ouch $500! I guess that is cheaper than replacing electrical system! Thanks!
