SOOOO my long time away from a superduty may be coming to a close
my local dealer has kr 250 2016 4x4 marked down from 67k down to 52k. it was built in sept of 15 and has sat in need of a home. blue jeans outside color short box crew cab

my concern is at 6700 plus pounds I can put in in the flat bed trailer i haul behind the bus....and still have about 1200 lbs left over
but its HUGE compared to the 150 crew cab i carry now.

it is 4x4 with manual hubs but the towing guide does not give it a thumbs up to do four down as in recreational towing behind the bus.

it has the esof system for the transfer case.
IS there a software adjustment or is dropping a drive shaft the only way to make it four down towable

one would think a software cure would be available. but ford states only a manual transfer case and manual hubs are ok for flat or four down towing.

thanks

This is another reason why I have never gotten an ESOF transfer case. You can't tow the truck. Get a manual transfer case and hubs and you are GTG. There are a lot of dealers in Texas and I'll bet you can find one near by.

Glad you are back Boatr!

my f150 has esof but it will lock out the transfer case to neutral for four down towing
you would think the super duty would be as well, my 1992 had it.

not sure if i will shop around, this is a super deal...but not if i have to swap cases or do the driveshaft disconnect

finding one with a manual t case is hard.
cant even build it that way without dealer inputting the code.
oh well,

yep i was just searching for a few...we have been looking for a few months
really liked the expedition 4x4 perfect what we need 4 down towing...but around here finding one with out the 22" wheels in a platinum or king ranch is super hard, unless of course you want white.
2016 expeditions stop production in may for the standard length and they stopped the EL model in march in preparation of the 2017 all new expedition to look a lot like the 150, with all alum and basic inerds of a f150. i think ford is screwing up making the expedition look so similar to the 150
the new 2017 super duty will also morph into a 150 on steroids, they keep the 150 cab for roominess and add in new fender and hood.
so now is the time to snatch up a 2016,,, left over...its a hard sell to get us a super duty to tow behind the bus...but wife really misses the dually..and a 250 would be closer.
our 2013 150 is perfect, as a gas burner can be and it loads up real fast on the flat bed, but still has the option to flat tow if and when we need to go that route.
i like the hauler trailer as it really cuts down the road rash on the toad vehicle.

I thought that could be what was meant by "four down towing," but I couldn't imagine why someone would be towing a Superduty.

When you pull a vehicle with all four wheels on the ground.
