Previously, after towing I could get the instrument cluster center gauge to go back to my choice. After a recent disconnect the Towing Grade indicator ALWAYS comes on upon starting engine. I have to manually set to choice (like compass or fuel economy).

In the past, once I changed it, it would still be there when I restarted the engine.
I've been through the manual. Am I missing an easy choice? Is there a simple "reboot"?

Thanks!

JP, you're such a genius! Stopping by the local Ford dealer got the guidance you needed. Congratulations.

Had to "deactivate " the trailer, which I had tried to do several times. Even took the service manager a couple shots to get it freed. Now, two times since, it deactivates upon pulling the trailer wires and I've not had to do anything! Go figure.

I have deleted the trailer after unhooking and still shows the the Trailer Status page on my dash.

I have the Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring System (Trailer TPMS) installed which seemed to be the beginning of my problem.

Try leaving your truck running throughout hitching and unhitching, it allows the truck to recognize the trailer is/is not there.
