Hey guys,

I just picked up my new 2020 F-450, and I'm trying to decide between a manual versus power retractable cover with the grooves on the side so I can mount a rack for bikes, etc. Does anyone have any experience with both or comments one way or the other? The only power one I can find that will work on the 8' bed is the Pace-Edwards (Lund - Leer) Ultragroove Electric: https://www.pace-edwards.com/Ultrag...MI097c4rft5gIVmONkCh33zQkUEAAYAyAAEgKWR_D_BwE

The most common other option would be the Retrax Manual Retraxpro XR: https://retrax.com/retraxpro-xr

Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated, and if there's some other makes/models I should look at too would be great. Thanks in advance for the help,

Chris

If it is electric it will fail. Not personally but run across folks stuck getting thins out when the power is dead. Find out if there is a release to move it manually if the motor fails.

I have a manual Retrax poly one since 2003 with no issues. I don't know if your set on the pace-edwards or not, but take a look at the Retrax offerings. They also have a track/accessory package available. I also have been shopping lately for a new cover and found you can get better pricing on both if you shop around. Just ask if any deals available. I just like the construction of the Retrax better.

Hope this helps

Electric is more convenient compared to manual and power but it will be more costly if that breaks.
