I replaced the valve cover gasket and the wire harness under the valve cover BUT..... the problem I have is that the pigtail connector that connects on the OUTSIDE of the gasket went bad when the pin burnt on the gasket.
DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A COMPANY (AFTERMARKET OR OTHER) THAT MAKES JUST THE PIGTAIL THAT PLUGS INTO THE OUTSIDE OF THE VALVE COVER GASKET WITHOUT HAVING TO BUY THE ENTIRE HARNESS (WHICH THEY WANT $400-$500 FOR)????
:thanks

Ask and ye shall receive

Valve Cover Harness Repair Kits (contains 4 hard shells w/seals, w/o terminals)
(Ford) F7TZ-14489-BA (94-96)
(Ford) F7TZ-14489-AA (97)
(International) 1830829C91 removal tool and Shells w/o pins
(International) 1661875C1 Pins
(International) 2501055C1 Pins with 6" wire

I'm not positive but I think the IH part numbers are only for the early trucks. They may have the later style too, just have to check. Powerstrokeshop.com should be able to hook you up with the Ford parts. You can E-mail them and they are good about getting back to you within a day or less. If you get any other part numbers let me know and I'll put them in THE LIST

WOW ! THANKS !!!:thanks
How come EVERY dealer I called didnt know this. I spoke to the Ford dealer, International dealer, Parts guy's, Service guy's.....you name it,,, NONE of them knew this. They all told me to replace the ENTIRE wire system. I guess they all want $$$$$ instead of customers !
Thanks again. :thumbs

Your NOT gonna believe this. One of the local garages knew about these parts and actually had the KIT IN STOCK.
I have a 1997 but he gave me (Ford) F7TZ-14489-BA @ $43.89
He said not to many people know about this EXCEPT MY BUDS AT superdutydiesel.com, THEY ARE THE BEST !
Thanks again Don !

Not sure I believe they didnt know. I think you hit the nail on the $$ part. I have never found a dealer that offered a cheaper fix, only unnecessarily overkill.

Was that garage where you found it a dealer or an independent?

Two of them were actually a Ford Dealer and the other was a Diesel repair shop. When I called back the second time at the Ford Truck place I got a different parts guy and thats when he told me "Not to many people know about this". Well DUHHHHH.......If you call and ask them specifically for replacement parts they should tell you?!
Oh well....Thanks to SDD I got the right stuff now. Thanks a million !

Good deal.:sweet I need one too. One time when I was testing the glow plugs I broke one of the clipie thingies that holds the plug in place. It has never came unplugged but I have always worried about it.

If you get a chance try to run down that part number. I had heard of it before, but the helpless Ford parts counter guys I deal with always tell me stuff like that is not available. If I have a part number or even the number from a repair manual I can usually twist their arms and get the parts. There is also supposed to be a breakout connector available too, but haven't found that part number either. The "service parts" and tools apparently show up different in the computer and I haven't found anyone willing (or able) to search them out for me.
