You still gonna do the SD HPOP? Sounded like you were having second thoughts... :dunno

I believe it's one of the better mods you can do, especially with those injectors! My stocker didn't feel like it was weak but the SD pump really woke up the top end. I still say do it! I don't know how much or little trouble dealing with the drainback will be though.

If you want some install info I can dig up my old thread from.... that other place. Lots of info with torque specs and stuff. :sweet

I'm pretty sure I am going to still go thru with this Ryan, I have been picking Craigs (NIT) brain and Dale (Powerstroke2000) also. Dale is running an accumulator built by Craig and is happy with it. Radarman is running a SD HPOP without an accumulator and isnt have major difficulties, What is your setup like Ryan? Experiencing drainback? Have an accumulator?

I think my plan of attack will be install SD HPOP, see if the drain back issue is bothersome and fab up my own accumulator. Looks pretty easy to make.

I'm still waiting for someone to give me a solid answer on whether you can swap internals on the HPOP's.

As far as swapping the internals, give swamp a call, he opens these things up every other day.

I have a 96 though so I have have no accumulator or drainback issues. It actually almost seemed to start up a crank or two quicker after the install.

From all I've read about pulling apart the HPOP it sounds like it may be more trouble than it's worth? :dunno

If you feel like tackling the job then the answer to your question is YES, you can swap the internals of the 15* and 17* SD pumps.

We done this with a customers 95 truck that I put bdp stage 1s in last year. The truck now has around 10,000 miles on it and has had no problems.

I have actually been thinking about selling these already done as I get tired of hearing all this talk about having to have accumulator setups to solve the drainback issue.

I would have thought that out of all the knowledge on all the diesel forums that some of these big shots would have done this a long time ago. I came up with this solution the first time a heard of the drain back issue and finally got a chance to do it with the truck mentioned above.

There are so many simple solutions to many of the problem people have made complicated. Every body is always thinking out of the box which is good but sometimes the solutions are right in front of us still inside the box. I like to think inside the box until it is empty.

I have many other simple solutions to so many problems but I keep them to myself until I get a chance to try them myself. I will be trying out several new ideas this summer so stay tuned for hopefully cool new info or products coming to the Power Stroke world by myself hopefully and some others that have aslo been working on killer new products and ideas.

Sorry, I did not meen to get off on other BS but I am excited and expect this year to have several BIG leaps in the Power Stroke performance world.

But, YES 95 stroker you can swap the internals if you want to tackle the project.

Good Luck
