Hey just got an 03 X a couple weeks ago and dont think the dealer has addressed the steeering issue yet.Mine seems to wonder around at times while driving and when changing lanes on the interstate its kinda spooky, it is slow to respond then feels like it sways abit while correcting back to straight once in the lane.Is this normal, or something I need to look into sway bars for since the X is so big? Just curious before I go back to talk with my dealer.

Hello Sir
There is a very good article about that here:
http://www.supermotors.net/clubs/fordexcursions/articles/article_1/index.php

If it is a steering problem, it can be the ball joints. Get them checked.
I have air bags from Air Lift in the rear axle and I do not have any problems, but I had with the steering before I changed my lower ball joints that were loose ( 80.000 miles and bigger tires ).

When I first bought my F-250 the steering was different then my old chevy. I took the truck in for a front end aligment but it was fine, I got used to the difference. Now I put on a new set of tires and it really wonders. only when I pull my 8500 lb. fifth wheel. I talked to the tire guys and they dont understand due to the tires being 10 ply. I am thinking of removeing the new tires and getting some michlins.

Ryan, the front end and steering on our 02 Excursion had alot of drift which we come to find out that the tie rod end was done and the track bar bushings were toast so while in Phoenix AZ last week we had SDHQ install a new tie rod end and heavy duty Edge adjustable track bar,now it steers straight and true. :sweet

Post up which tires with size you have, check the air pressure.
The steering box gearing may need some adjustment.
The stock steering stabilizer could be toast.
Definitely purchase a rear sway bar thats adaptable with the air bags.

I can ramble about suspension and handling :D

With my experience regarding Pirelli Scorpion AT and BFG TKO's I've found that upping the pressure to 60 psi on the fronts helped alot with steering wheel shimmy and tire wandering as they're too soft at the factory recommended pressures.

Check em out and see what they are at,add 5psi to see if it helps some.

steering

I looked in radius rods, hellwig bars, ball joints and tierod ends. My truck needed spring eye bushings. I broke my own rule. Keep it simple stupid!
