Dreaming of the 450 K.R.
I have a F-450 KR with 4:30 gears. At 65 mph I am turning about 2100 rpm. So far I am getting around 12-14 MPG.- 06PSD

99 late or early
I ordered my 99 in July `98. The 99's all had the badge on the fender. One of the many changes with the 99.5 was to put the badge on the door. Like I stated anyone could buy the 99.5 badges and put them on the door, heck I did that `cause I liked them better.- 06PSD

one thing I can say for sure (as I had one of the original 99 PSD's), there is a V8 badge on the front fender. I forget if it says Powerstroke or not, but I believe it does. I have them in my garage, but I ain't home right now. The 99.5 put the badge on the door where they've remained since...- 06PSD

Remote Start
Why is the viper so much better than the remote startef from Ford? Doesn't the Ford kit use one fob for both starting and locking/unlocking the doors? Does the Ford unit provide cool down too? I'm am interested in remote start before the snow flies and am not in need of an alarm system...- 06PSD

08 f450 super duty question
Oh yea, I also noticed a lot less bounch towing the 5er. Much smoother ride (my wife and her herniated disc can attest to this).- 06PSD

bed liners?
I've had Line-x on my 99 F-250 and 02 GMC 3500. Rhino on my `06 F-350. All had 5er hitches. After a long trip in hot weather, I saw the Rhino liner start to bublle from under the mounting rails. I went back to Line-X in my new `08 F-450.- 06PSD

Two new problems A/C Vents and Locks
When I had my `99 F-250, the A/C or Heat not blowing thru the vents was a sure fire symptom that the vacuum pump wasn't working. Without the vacuum pump, the FWD won't switch in either. `99's were notorious for failing vacuum pumps as they were real cheap pumps.- 06PSD

08 f450 super duty question
just got an `08 F450 last week. Turning? Turns on a dime. I am really impressed. Almost as good as my wifes Honda. Just pulled my 16,250# trailer for the first time today. It did an impressive job towing. From a dead stop it was better than my `06 F350. While moving, I think it was as...- 06PSD

Teapot whistle, Now I've had it
i hear it with the windows up or down. I beleive it is definitely with the fan. When I get to Rapid City, SD, I'm stopping at a Ford delaer to have it checked.- 06PSD

Teapot whistle, Now I've had it
after 3 days of towing (on a trip) I am now convinced this whistling noise is coming from the fan unit. Don't know if it is the eletric motor, a bearing or just the fan speed. It appears that the fan unit runs (i forget off the top of my head) at 4 or 5 speeds. You can hear the rpm's raise...- 06PSD
