    Hello diesel family

Maintenance is the key to any diesel engine. Change the filters and oil and you should not have many problems. Post if you think you are having a problem. The only stupid question is the one that is not asked! What kind of oil and filter are you running Matt? Dave

    A Few Electrical issues

No there should not be power to the abs sensor. It is a pick-up coil and it will generate a sine wave as the wheel inside the dif spins. The PCM will 'count' the number of wave cycles to determine the axle speed. Dave

    aFe Dry Filters

In general, I completely agree with you. Stock if almost the best for everyday driving. You can get more power out of a filter that flows more air, but that is with the cost of less filtration. Dave ;tu

Question good batteries good starer good altenator low voltage wont turnover

The alternator is internally regulated, so no separate regulator. Clean all of the corrosion off the wires/connectors. This just adds resistance to the circuit and that is not good. Diesel engines need a LOT OF POWER to get started when it is cold. So everything you can do to help the...

    Question Towing capacity

Joe is right. The stock tranny cooler will NOT keep your tranny cool enough while pulling your trailer. Change it to at least a 6.0 tranny cooler. Easy change and it works! Dave

    Unusual Front End (Axle) Noise

You say it feels rotary in nature. This leads me to think the right hand wheel bearing is shot or going. I know these are not cheap, as I bought a spare just for this sort of thing. I am at a total loss to explain the on/off sounds you get when you hit a bump. You have enough miles on your...

    A Few Electrical issues

That or a fused link, near the right hand battery. The links tie into the positive battery connector. These can be a bitch to find. Dave

Question Looking at an 05 with 73000 miles......

Everyone freaks about the 6.0 engines. I have one that has a bit over 130,000 miles and the only thing it has needed is the FICM. It needed to be replaced about 35,000 miles ago. Other than regular maintenance, nothing needed to be replaced. I do not have a tuner and that is the difference...

    Should I Buy a 6.0?

Cracked heads are not on the list of frequent problems. I am sure it happens but it is not a common problem. Dave
