    Just because your boss is a champ is some racing circuit doesn't make him an expert in this area. If you take your truck to a repair shop/dealership to get it checked out and they see NO air filter system in your truck, they will laugh you out of the store and tell you to get your boss to fix it.

    If he had completely removed all aspects of the filter system (inlet, filter, filter housing, elbow from the filter housing, etc) would the turbo still be able to pull in all that air? Wouldn't the turbo be starving for air, therefore not getting the correct amount of air to mix with the fuel...

    Understood dp. but............. I did ask him yesterday about their location on my truck, I said "Will I have to remove the valve covers to get to the glow plugs?" and he said, "No, you can access them through the wheel well area to remove them." Maybe I didn't ask my question clear enough.

    Hmmm. My dieseltech told me they were just below the valve cover, not inside the valve cover.

    Dogman, I found a source for that part#, but it said it was for a 2003 6.0 only. Part#176401 is for a 2004+ Ford truck/Van 6.0 Wonder what the diff. would be.

    WOW, I was sleepy when I first read this, but I am awake now. NO air filter....................not smart. Maybe the chugging BECAUSE IT NEEDS AN AIR FILTER.

    I have a Banks intake elbow. Bought the whole Banks Bundle about 3.5 years ago. Been working well for me. It is a bunch of coin if you buy it by itself. Not something I would do today for that much money.

    We use to have a Borg Warner banner on here for their glow plugs. I can't find anything on them anywhere. They claimed their's were better than stock and I think they may have been cheaper than buying them at the dealership. Anyone have any clue's?

    I am thinking of putting a SCAN gauge from Terminater Engineering there. It can keep up with about 15 diff. parameters and will show 2 of them at a time. Yes, that lever is for the train horns.

    Yes, sorry I never got around to posting up a pic. I just relocated it to the left a little, just under the cluster, next to the steering column. I re-used the same ESOF switch and purchased a used dash bezel from an XL. Re-painted it and installed it a few weeks ago. Looks good to me.
