    What are these for???

Mine has part of the intake attached to that -- between the rubber boot that attaches to the turbo and the other boot that goes to the air box is a section of metal 3" tubing. I think I've got a picture of it hooked up...

    Big Oil Leak

Well -- when you say oil slick... It's bad enough that it drips off of the rest of the frame (even off of the frame of my trailer after pulling it...) It doesn't leak (much anyways) when not running. I think it's just residual leaks finishing dripping

    Big Oil Leak

Yes, definitely external. When I cleaned the valley, I took out the fuel bowl to clean it up a little, color was OK...

    Big Oil Leak

I'd like to visit this topic again.... I just made another long trip pulling our travel trailer. I was loosing oil like crazy! I stopped about every 100 - 125 miles or so and it would be approx 2 qts low each time. Looking at the top of the engine where I had suspected the problem to be...

    Extended Towing Mirrors

Here's what I've got. I like 'em :thumbs ...someone else here said they're "ugly". :tounge - then again, I showed a set of these on a Chevy, not my truck, so maybe it was that they look ugly on a Chevy? They swing out for towing, they are out far enough I can see around our fifth-wheel...

    Big Oil Leak

Just one more question -- these part numbers for the oil lines refer to RH or LH. Is that from looking at the engine, or from the back? RH = Pass side LH = Driver side ?

    Big Oil Leak

I wiped the top of the valve cover and around the galley plugs before driving home from work. When i got home, I had lost a little and it appears to me that the oil is coming from the high pressure hose going into the passenger side of the engine. There was a little pool in the vicinity, looks...

    Big Oil Leak

Mine don't look like that...they have a hex head like a regular bolt on them. Looks like it's close to 1/2. I haven't taken on out to see if the base looks the same, I'll try that this evening, too. Or am I seeing the wrong thing?

    Big Oil Leak

Towards the center of the engine, on top, but yes, below the valve cover. Four on each side, hose going into one of 'em?

    Big Oil Leak

I have a pretty major oil leak.... I took a 600 mile trip and lost about 2 gallons or so of oil over the entire trip (I checked it pretty regular, didn't starve it or anything)... The leak is dripping down the back of the engine coming out in the bellhousing and down the back of the oil...

    EBPV ....... again

I can definitely hear it in the cab....a little swooshing sound, but not like a REAL jake brake. I haven't tried it hooked up to a trailer, just braking unloaded...so I'm not sure if the sound would be more pronounced while towing or not.

    Starter or Starter Relay?

Yes I did try that, but nothing happened...no sparks, nothing. Not sure what that means (I did have my wife hold the key in the start position, so I guess the current was flowing enough through the relay that it didn't make contact through the screwwdriver?)

    Starter or Starter Relay?

Here's the situation -- go out to start the truck this morning, turns over a few times, but doesn't start (that's my glow plug relay talking -- I'm getting a new one). So, I try to short the glow plug relay so I can get the plugs warm enough to start. When I try to go back and start, it's like...

    EBPV ....... again

I'm trying to do the exhaust brake EBPV mod. I've got it all wired up, I think correctly, but NOTHING is working... I looked on SteveBAZ's page, but the schematic isn't there any more, outdated link. On the switch, I have it numbered as follows: / \ A1 & A2 | | B1 & B2 \...

    Rim size

The 70 in the 305/70 post refers to the height of the sidewall in relation to the tire width. (I think they call it the aspect ratio?) So, that means you've got a tire that's 305 MM wide (or 12 inches), and the sidewall is 8.4 inches tall (12 * .70). Your stock wheels are in fact 16"...

Fuel Filter top on a 97PSD

Are there enough tabs left you can get a long handled screwdriver across them to get some leverage? Those caps are pretty tough, it hard to imagine what he did to break those things...

    Dead stereo?

Do you happen to still have your stock unit? If you do, I'd plug that one in right quick to make double-sure it's the unit and not some fuse or wiring prob..

    Electrical

I've seen trailer wiring problems "feed back" into the truck, for instance if you have a brake light and your tail lights shorted out together, your running lamps would come on when you apply the brake.... It sounds like the truck though, if unhooking the trailer doesn't fix the problem. Did...

    Electrical

When you say you have no brake lights, turn signals, etc. Is that on the truck or trailer (or both), and does everything go back to normal when you unhook the trailer?

    Bad Turbo?

While installing my DIY intake, I looked down at my turbo, and noticed that the fins aren't uniform in spacing. I figured they are probably meant to all be a certain distance apart from each other. I snapped a picture, can someone tell me if I need to replace that thing? Also, there's a...
