    CCV Thought

This sounds interesting, no smell.. Is it like the aircraft filter just inline with the factory pipes? I was thinking of a bean can sized unit inline and just drain back down the intake pipe. Maybe make it out of one of the small aliminum canisters from auto A/C units. Not sure how...

    S&B intake?

Most aircraft only get exposure to dirt on the ground, most of the time they are in the air. Some aircraft run with no air filter at all, are you suggesting that? Get HP gain, low EGT, no filtering.. Aircraft engines also wear out very fast in comparison to a street vehicles. Complete different...

    S&B intake?

Ohhh man this is funny.... Went to the sites of the filter makers K&N and S&B... At least K&N is honest about the whole situation. From their site: "As has become customary in the automotive industry, we use Coarse Test Dust for gasoline engine air filters and Fine Test Dust for diesel...

    generator

A cheap generator will be very noisy, save some money up and get a good one. I have twin Honda 2000's. I hook them up parallel and get 4000W. Cable is easy to make for $40 instead of paying Honda $300 for theirs. Very quiet, and the RPM changes as the power load changes.

    S&B intake?

Use the NAPA one.. Has better filtering and as good or better flow (isnt that what you want from a filter?) Do not use the oil/gauze type filters (K&N and the rest) they let way to much dirt through. You can verify it on the K&N page, they really try to hide it, but the filtering can be as bad...

    Question Booost Gauge

Stock max is 17 lbs, but you will never see that unless you have a trailer hooked up. Will never see it unloaded. So if it is unloaded, 11 psi max would be in the right area

    Leaf spring separating pads?

Near the ends of the leaf springs there is supposed to be these little plastic separators that keep the springs from squeaking like an old buckboard. They usually crack and fall out after 5 or so years, sometimes sooner. I spray the grease in the crack between each leaf, then wipe away the...

    Leaf spring separating pads?

From others experiences, they found that the grease lasts longer. New plastic pieces just get cracked and spit out like the original. That is why I use grease. I just wipe off the excess.

    Question Tuners for '02.....7.3L SD

Dont waste you money on anything except a custom chip. Give Tony a call at Total Diesel Performance. 7.3's work much better with a chip. I have a 6-position chip with every program I want, still tweeking the tow setting to get it just the way I want it.

engine lopes, sounds like a miss upon start up

Lots of guesses, start simple... - remove the programming and see if it goes away - when it lopes, does tapping the throttle make it go away? (mine does that, I dont think it is a issue) Also... the flashing OD light means there is a trans issue. I believe the Edge can do that. May be rebuild...

    engine lopes on start up

Make sure to let the WTS light go out (and a little more) on the first cold start of the day. Mine does that sometimes too, I just tap the peddle and it stops. I run 15-40 as the book says to. If in very cold areas then a lower weight would help too.

Help Needed $1000 to Improve Towing!

With the above you will have enough for the NAPA 6637 filter (check Filter1.com for a great price), and a muffler delete (just cut it out and add a straight piece or a straight through muffler). These last two items will really lower the EGT and you will feel the difference in power.

Help Needed $1000 to Improve Towing!

Even with the over boost eliminator list in my sig I get SES, it isnt the boost that sets it when you add the boost fooler. What sets it is the low HP oil. With my setup I would need a new HPOP to fix it, for now I just ignore it. Only happens when pulling a big hill the the TT behind, wind the...

Help Needed $1000 to Improve Towing!

The WW isnt a complete cure, the ATS is. WW usually cures it, but would hate for you to still have surge after the money spent. Also, WW makes more noise and I didnt want that. For 7k towing, all you would need to add is the ATS, trans temp, and the boost fooler. You have removed the major...

Help Needed fender above exhaust keeps turning black

Well I hope the engine isnt smoking more from gettin dusted by the K&N... That would be bad... A clean K&N filters worse than a dirty one..

Found Out Part Of the PROBLEM

Do you have a aftermarket trans temp gauge that you could tell the real temp? IF not, I would suggest to replace the fluid as it can get over heated before any stock devices say it is.

Help Needed fender above exhaust keeps turning black

If you are just concerned about the fender, then just add a turn down tip. If all the truck has is the programmer, then it probably needs a better intake and exhaust to let the air flow better and it will run cleaner. That or keep your foot out of the throttle.

    Turbo Surge

If you want a complete cure the ATS housing is the only way to go. With my setup I had very bad surge, and didnt want more noise. Added the ATS and it is so much better. Pulling my 10k TT I have yet to have a surge even at max EGT and 24lbs boost pulling hills. ATS costs more, in this case I...

Found Out Part Of the PROBLEM

If you havent replaced the trans fluid then do it. That needs to be done anytime the trans gets hot as the fluid breaks down with the heat.

    Help please

With that, it sound like it is probably working fine. EBPV is a winter warmer, dont need it when it is warm. Intake heater is really just for smog reasons. Keep the truck from smoking too bad on cold starts, not much for warm up.
