Our keypad works maybe half the time, the Excursion is showing it's age at 7 years old now. My understanding it's the module the keypad is wired to that actuates the door locks that goes belly up after so many years,it's not cheap either.
If the vacuum actuated shutoff valve is stuck closed even with vacuum hose removed then no coolant at all will flow to the heater core.
The front shutoff valve only works for the front heater core, the rear heater core has hot coolant running to it all the time regardless of heater/AC control...
Friend of mine at SuperMotors did a detailed write up on the R&R for the rotors and pads on his Excursion, check it out,the procedure should be the same for the SRW Superduty trucks.

Friend of mine up in Keller has been looking for a way to replace the up-pipe gaskets on his 02 Excursion but he just can't do it and also is tired of the boost loss and lousy mileage. He's soaked em with penetrating oil but they won't break loose:rant Anybody had success in replacing theirs...
I have a Clifford Responder SST system waiting to be installed on the Excursion but it needs to be done by an authorized DEI installer to retain the system waaranty, any ya'll recommend one here in the Dallas area?

I actually like the glass/polycarbonate resevoir,it's a nice clean setup,I'll probably order one for the truck:) Thanks for the thread LonestarBronco;tu
The passenger side valve cover is alot easier to R&R than the drivers side any day! I have new harnesses and glow plugs sitting on the shelf I'll get around to installing one of these days :innocent
Good luck with it Jesse :sweet
Thank you!
Thanks John! :notworthy
In the end it's the members as a whole that make SuperDutyDiesel what it is today, keep it technical, keep it friendly keep it real!
The Excursions with the EATC system does the same thing, shuts off without notice or doesn't even turn on at times. I read where an owner turns his headlights on and off like 3 times then the air turns on magically. Ford hasn't been able to figure it out either but I've read it occurs more...
Long as it's not synthetic or synthetic blend, you don't want top put that in your tank. I only recommend the 1 gallon blue bottle from Walmart as it's straight up 2 cycle oil with no synthetic.
