    Tranny shot?

Think about upgrading the tranny cooler to the 6.0 cooler. Cools better I hear.

Shorter Antenna Mast for 2004 SD

I hear what you're saying and my fear was the mounting area on the cowl would weaken from the force of the antenna hitting the door frame. I found a shorty at NAPA for $8 I'll try. So far so good. My CB antenna is a fender mounted whip that is really wispy and it will go in no problem. I can...

Shorter Antenna Mast for 2004 SD

I'm still a radio guy sometimes. Good country station locally. Still listen to CDs and I can put a thumb drive into the Alpine deck my truck came with. NAPA has one of those cell phone type antennas that are coiled in the middle. Not much like $8-$12. I do need to be sure the truck will actually...

photos '01 Superduty for '96 OBS?

If it were me I would do the cross rail repairs first. Keep the foundation solid. Then I would keep eyes open for the doors of the same color as you find them. Get one here, one there until you have what you need. Should be direct bolt on, no painting and less money. Then do cab corners when you...

Shorter Antenna Mast for 2004 SD

I was looking at some of those last night. I was wondering about the reception on the shorter ones like the rubber style. Not like a CB antenna I suppose.

photos '01 Superduty for '96 OBS?

Having had both trucks I think you would be going backwards unless you just really wanted the OBS. I would put the money into yours or go newer if it were me. I love my '04. My '94 was fine but the interior of the '04 blows my OBS out of the water in every way I can think of. Chassis, too. Just...

Shorter Antenna Mast for 2004 SD

Wanting to park the truck in the garage and I don't want the antenna to bend and whip around pulling in and backing out. Any ideas for a shorter one by 4-6 inches? The '04s have the male mount on the truck and the mast screws onto it. I did find this one so far. Just got started looking...

    Looking at diesels

On the 6.0 if you can get away with the EGR delete then you're good. Otherwise have one of the better EGR coolers installed. Avoid tuners. I don't think the 6.0 needs one. 4" exhaust and monitor the engine and drive it.

Question Driving Tips for Towing and MPG

Father's Day we went up in the woods for a short hike and turning around at the saddle I reached for the shifter and my foot was searching for the clutch twice! Hadn't done it since I bought it in March. Done it several times since then too. Laugh and shake my head. I go into auto pilot mode and...

    Question Bully Dog Programmer

Not trying sell anything here but I have my Dad's Bully Dog Triple Dog Diesel Downloader from his '02 Powerstroke. I unprogrammed it from his truck before selling it for my mom after he passed. I was going to use it but I don't need any tunes on my 6.0 but I do want to get an Edge monitor...

    2004 6.0 F250 down

Sorry to hear you're having problems. I have the same year. Only had mine since March. So many electronic doodads for me to keep straight. With my luck in repairing things the shop is the route for me, too unless it's fairly straight forward maintenance or bolt on type part.

    Question Rear Axle Servicing

I used the Valvoline Synthetic in my '94 and had no problems so I feel pretty good using it this time, too. I get a discount at my NAPA through the school district as well.

    Question Rear Axle Servicing

I'll check it first. Has a plug on the driver's side of the housing like the old Sterlings, right?

    Question Rear Axle Servicing

No problems that I'm aware of. NAPA has the Valvoline Synthetic (proper SAE viscosity) and friction modifier (I don't remember the brand). Should I use Motorcraft only in the rear or is what NAPA has alright? Assuming I need to change it. At this point I'll probably just change the front to...

    Question Rear Axle Servicing

The owner's manual says the rear differential oil is a lifetime deal, only service if there's a leak or repairs done. I bought oil for the front diff. but I held off on the rear. What has everyone else done here? Leave it or change it out for new synthetic? My axle code is C1 so that is the LS...

    HydroBoost question

I was wondering also. Mine sometimes is tougher to turn when stationary on pavement. So it's a "nature of the beast" type of thing? I'm assuming at least up through '04 the systems are the same?

    F-250 or F-350??

How about some follow up??! :dunno Did you find the truck you were looking for?

    Batteries...........

I had good luck with NAPA Legend batteries in my '94 IDI. Averaged four years or better on each set.

    My First Diesel

Welcome from another Pacific North Westerner! A lot of good information and knowledgeable folks here. I'm not necessarily one of them, though. :D Enjoy all of that towing power and a great truck platform.

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Had the coolant flushed and replaced Thursday. The shop I go to has had good results with Zerex G-05. One more thing down. Next will be the gear lube in the axles.

Lets see those SuperDuty Trucks!! (OFFICIAL PICTURE THREAD)

Same here in north Idaho, Scott. I'm a high school PE teacher here and I don't know how many days I expect no school and nope, school's in! Snow is play time here. A lot of snow mobiles, ATV's with and without tracks, skiing (not me, though), snow shoeing, predator hunting, etc. Lock in the hubs...

Lets see those SuperDuty Trucks!! (OFFICIAL PICTURE THREAD)

02Oilburner, Those are pretty sharp! Do you get icy roads in the winter there in NC? Sometimes the more aggressive treads don't always have the best traction on ice. Siping does help, though.
