    I would suggest you talk to someone who rigs boats to see how they seal electrical connections on watercraft. Maybe do some internet searches on coastal mariners and their tricks for sealing out salt and moisture, which is identical to what you face in your area in the winter.

    Sorry about losing your best friend. I wish you comfort while dealing with the loss. Man, I remember when I lost my lab that I grew up with. Got him when I was 13 and he too lasted 14 years. Great dogs and super loyal friends.
