    Bed Liners

I used Line-X in my old truck and it never failed. Truck before that had a drop-in liner. Excellant paint remover. Right down to bare metal. Sliding never seemed to be an issue, and if I thought it would be then I used one of my Cargo Bars from Keeper.

    Upfitter Switches in an X

So my 2005 X, based on the earlier Super Duty, can take the Upfitter's? The kit mentioned above is for the '05 and up Super Dutys. Was there an earlier Upfitter option, or was this just for the newer ones? This has been a great thread.

    gauges

I shopped around when I was looking for an Autometer triple pillar mount and gauges and got them from Summit with a price match to boot. They ship from three warehouses now so time and inventory don't seem to be a problem even when shipping from all three warehouses on the same order.

what chip is the best for my ford 6.0

"Best" makes for a difficult question to answer without specifics, but my Banks Six Gun with Power PDA has worked great for me. My specifics were longevity, performance, and mileage. It has been a long time since I needed to perform smokey burn-outs. I can, but that isn't why I did it.

Mobil 1 Diesel Truck and SUV Synthetic Oil

Don't you have a Wal-Mart? I thought they were everywhere.

    6.0 injectors

With your exhaust and intercooler I don't know that removing the 6 Gun will hide much. You have one other connection to remove under the hood before you can disconnect your power lead and diagnostic port adapter. Two wires hanging from a thermocouple won't stick out the way your other mods...

Mobil 1 Diesel Truck and SUV Synthetic Oil

I'm not sure why but two Wal-Marts near me were closing the Mobil 1 Extended Performance 15W-50 out in the 5 quart jugs so I bought all I could get for my first oil change. Once I decide which bypass filter to install I will do it. I've used Mobil 1 in everything for years with no...

Hi Beam + Lo Beam mod really works!

The high beam low beam mod can actually be enhanced in this fashion for maximum reliability. I have used the APC wiring loom, but I wasn't impressed with the relays (not true, I thought they were junk). So when one failed I replaced both with continuous duty solenoids (they look like the...

    Upfitter Switches in an X

Matt, I did a search in FTE and didn't see what you described. And given powerboatr's input I'm even more curious as to what they did/or are doing in FTE.

    Upfitter Switches in an X

Hijacking my own posting I have been running wires through a huge hole in the firewall that had an aluminumized rubberized (technical) cover on it that was easy to pull back and I put loom on the inside bore of the hole to prevent chafing, then pulled the cover back in to place. Large wires...

    Upfitter Switches in an X

If I can't use the Upfitters, the convenience wires under the hood...where is the other end for them? Fused or not? What is the story on them?

    Upfitter Switches in an X

The reason I thought I could do this was that I thought I had the engine compartment provisions for the Upfitter Switch. I have the short unattached wires up near the firewall on the driver's side just like in the pictures I've seen so factory switches...maybe? Do the switches fit in the cubby...

    Upfitter Switches in an X

I've seen the pictures of them in the pick-ups, but I would like to know if the Upfitter Switches fit in our dashes. I've got an '05 X with a little cubby hole beside the switch for my adjustable pedals, and as I add accessories I thought the upfitters might be a nice central location...

    BATT sugestions

If you want to get your batteries checked, and definitely have a load test done, you can go to most places that sell batteries. They usually check them for free, and some will charge them for free (Les Schwab in the Northwest). It's good customer service, so auto parts and tire shops like...

    C-Betr Mirrors

I just got off the phone with Mac at C-Betr and he tells me a small gap is normal. Nice guy, very helpful. So there you go, a gap is normal.

    C-Betr Mirrors

Like he said, the mounting brackets for the mirror head surround the upper and lower arms of the Trailer Towing mirrors; and the twin "C" shaped ends do not meet perfectly. They really aren't even that close, and with the rubber inserts in the brackets I don't see how the C-Betrs could slide...

    C-Betr Mirrors

I had read an incredible number of posts on these handy little mirrors, what I haven't seen is the problem I've had. The two halves of the brackets that clamp around the arms of the Trailer Towing mirrors don't meet. (They do when they come out of the box.) There is a gap at the top and...

    removal of blanket underhood?

If blistering the hood paint was the reason for the blanket, Ford would have kept it. How many hoods would they want to paint/replace? My '05 X has no blanket, nor do I plan to install one. Regarding wrapping the exhaust, I trust you mean the turbo and/or down pipe. For reasons of thermal...

    Need Some Advice...

You will get lots of input on this so I'll start things off with my opinion. I did a lot of shopping with an eye toward longevity and efficiency (no smokey burn-outs for me) and went with the Banks Six Gun Tuner with Power PDA. The install was easy (hardest part-removing the manifold to drill...

    cool down idle time

Budtoh3zo, Are you talking about removing the Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor in the driver's side Exhaust Manifold to mount the Thermo-Couple? Don't you need that sensor?

Sorry to butt-in, but why would this be done?

    Mileage #3

With just over 5,000 I never get less than 16 in the city and never get less than 20 on the road, and I plan on bettering both.

    cool down idle time

Kleetus, The pre-turbo probe goes in the driver's side exhaust manifold. Remove it (the manifold) first and then drill and tap and clean obsessively. Or drill it in place and take a chance. I wouldn't/didn't. Cool down/idle time seems to be a remnant of the old babbit bearing turbo days...
