    am I reading this correctly...

I have this generator - http://www.deere.com/en_US/parts/homeandworkshop/products/generators/ac_g6000s_e.html I'm thinking about this welder - http://www.mylincolnelectric.com/Catalog/equipmentdatasheet.asp?p=2519 Looking at the output for the Generator and the requirements for the welder...

    '06 oil leak

My last leak involved the blue turbo boots as I mentioned above. On the underside of the blue boot coming off the turbo there were cracks running the length of the boot. They said oil was coming out at that location pooling on the top of the motor and running down the back. Once it was there it...

Ford Sues Navistar Over Engine Prices, Warranty Dispute

Sure would blow if their relationship fell apart and we had to buy Toyotas to get our motor           :cussing:

    Air filter monitor

That doesn't sound right? Why would a sealed system (i think) have a hiss after the truck shuts down. I would be looking for leaks on the turbo outlet side, blue boots. Anyone else hear anything at shut down?

    Air filter monitor

My thinking is this (& I have many critics:eek: ) The filter minders have been on semis and commercial equipment for years and have worked fine. A visibly dirty filter does not mean a clogged filter or that the filtration is not working. My minder on the 03 was slowly moving until 60K when I...

    '97 or '99 F-250?!?! Help me...

The 99 is prices closer to the average retail of 16150 The 97 is a bit farther away from it's AR of 13925 I would be torn, as it seems you are: If I planned on keeping it for a long time I would go with the newer one, 16K on miles is not that much of a difference so you get pretty much the...

    Diff chatter...

About 7-8K ago I had some differential chatter when turning corners. I had a local shop change out the fluid and ad the additive ford recommends. The chatter went away for about 1000 miles and has been slowly coming back until now. Anyone have this issue or have any ideas? Should I just ad more...

    opinions: F250 vs. F350

I don't know anything about your state but in Michigan you have to consider the GVW if you will use the truck for any type of business purpose. Anything over 10K (my 350 is 11.5K gvw) they treat as a full blown commercial vehicle, I need a medical cert, yearly inspections, CDL, emergency...

    Z Plan Purchase

I believe "Z" is for retired employees and family of. Same as "A" plan pricing but not for current employees. Last time I bought I was shocked at the small difference between X & A. I saw both and on a 46K truck it was only $900

    '06 oil leak

DON"T panic. Most oil leaks on these motors will show oil in the area of the "rear main" or bell housing area That's just where gravity takes it. I have had leaks in 6-7 different locations that eventually become a bell housing drip. I'm not sure what the part is called but my last one came from...

    fuel filter changing ?????

The tank was between 1/2 & 3/4 full, would that make it drain more?

    fuel filter changing ?????

I was creeping up on the 1 gallon mark when I stopped. Is there an order they should be done in small first? second? OK to have both out at once?

    fuel filter changing ?????

Sorry if this is repedative, but I searched and didn't find the answer i need. I tried changing the filters in the 06 6.0 today. I say tried because the drain on the HFCM never stopped draining. I pulled the plug and let it drain while I changed the small filter. 5-10 Minutes later it's still...

    programming the transmission

Both mine are auto w/ 3:73. and at 70 I'm running just under 1900 rpm. Unless you wanted to change your gears, I think your stuck, as Deviant said. I have no clue on the cost of a gear change, but I would guess you would need to drive a ton to recoupe your costs.

    programming the transmission

The raised idle speed is normal. You will read posts about "high idle" or "high idle mod" occasionally, that's what they are reffering to. It just helps them warm up better on cold mornings. A diesel at normal idle will take forever to get to running temp in the winter. Some people have their...

    Snow Towing

This info may be useless now, (injured one) but here it is anyway. I tow daily rain/shine/blizzard, doesn't matter - I need to work when the work is available. I've been out in a fresh 12" and I honestly don't change much. Just slow down, plan early & give yourself some space. Things you should...
