By-Pass Engine oil & Transmission Fluid - Help in selection

Look at his previous posts on other subjects, they're all LOOOOOONNNGGGGG. Some of us are slow typing-to the point people & some are John.:D I think he's updating TDS with the same info. John, Did you do the trans filter also? or just the oil for now?

Kudos to one of Fords Designs

Come on that's not what he said. He had a problem with the design without the plow cables.

By-Pass Engine oil & Transmission Fluid - Help in selection

Ask yourself how long you plan on keeping the truck. I plan on keeping mine for 7-10 years. Since I drive 40-50K/yr that will mean 4-500K on the truck. If all is well at thet point I may go more. In my case the cost of the FS2500 was easy to justify. Not to drag out oil changes but to help with...

Frozen air lines and stiff landing gear

Depending on the number of trailers and equipment combiations this may be possible. I used to use the air supension dump valve to set trailers on stacks of wood blocking and never had to deal with the landing gear cranks. They just stayed up all winter. Unless one was knocked off the blocking.

    Fuel Filters

HEY! IF our $ are on a near level playing field now? Shouldn't those prices be coming down for you Canadians??? Buy em' anywhere but the dealer. Unless it's a International dealer, they run 30ish also.

    Diesel Fuel Price Up Again

I was in the U.P. this weekend. (for nonmichigan peeps, "the top") The cheapest station in town was 3.49 - At the pump I noticed the 3.49 was #2 & they had another pump for #1 @ $3.99 I opted for the #2 since it would all be burned in the next 18 hours. I didn't think there was #1 & 2...

    Battery Question

OK, that makes sense now. They can be pulled out just like any other vehicle.

    Battery Question

Why do you need to pull them out to charge??? Just throw the charger on either one in the truck & they will both charge.

    switched heated mirror...

Thanks bush, I found this and ended up doing everything under the dash. Mirror heat is now on upfitter 3. Here's the info: for anyone who's interested. This is for 06 and may be different for other years. http://www.cj-servicesinc.com/H-mir-2.gif http://www.cj-servicesinc.com/H-mir-1.gif

I'm sure someone has done this? I want to make my heated mirrors run off an upfitter switch. Anyone know the wire color for the circuit on the back of the fuse panel????

    head gaskets

Overboost causes higher compression, more power, etc. Take a look at this post. The guys with tuners are running higher psi than stock. http://www.superdutydiesel.com/forums/6-0l-powerstroke-engine-drivetrain/12853-boost-p-s-i.html

    head gaskets

If my memory is correct the new bolts are 1-2mm thicker than the 03-04. My 03 was stock and mine blew. Stock trucks 05 and up having blowns HG should be rare.

    2006-2007 PSD

The cruise issue is normal. I used to think all the cars in front of me were not maintaining their speed when I had the cruise on. After watching my needle for a bit I realized it was me. Set at 65 I could be going 62-70. Up hills it will go faster and down hills slower.

    inverter remote turn on?

My inverter TheInverterStore.com - AIMS 1250 Watt Power Inverter 12 Volt has a remote on/off switch option. It looks like a household phone jack. The switch they offer for it is something only a BAMA could love (see here) TheInverterStore.com - AIMS Remote on/off Switch- I found another one with...

    engine oil analysis

I think you'll find that most people here are taking samples to find fuel / coolant & excessive metals. Most are not looking to extend oil usage. I extended once and tested at 5K and 12.5K (syn with bypass filter). After having a base line to go by I'm comfortabe with changing @ 10K and will...

Read the fine print ... Inverter install

ooooopps! Blew up the first one. New one is on the way. Over the weekend I was running a compressor with a variable speed motor. On low the inverter had no trouble running it. I started the truck, ran high idle, turned on the inverter, turned on the compressor & walked away. Came back later and...

    bouncing down new smooth roads....

Yep, only on concrete. The issue is - on freshly resurfaced concrete (if done correctly, smooth as glass) it's the worst. I wouldn't call it dolphin like someone mentioned above. It's vertical oscillation, as fast as 3-6 hops per second. I can watch other 350's around me bouncing if I'm driving...

    MP3 on 06 6disc changer....

Nope, sure doesn't. I assumed in 2006, years after MP3 was available - it would just be standard. The aftermarket Blaupunkt I put in my 97 ranger had it! That was 10 years ago! Damn Ford, get with it.:rant
