Sure. What's the right way? What do I flush it with?

    Question She just dies??

So I guess my question comes down to... How much oil in the I/C is too much and if there is too much, what's the best way to clean it out?

    Question She just dies??

Thanks for the input. It only has 110k miles. The Mech says he frequently sees worn out turbos with less miles and sees others that are fine with much more, so I guess mine is average. I have an update... I visited the shop to see what the mech was talking about exactly and found that I...

    Question She just dies??

Well... My problem just got worse -- not with the harness/FICM issue, but while chasing an oil leak. The shop (not dealer) is double checking harnesses & the FICM to see if they can nail that down better. On the oil leak... I have been chasing oil leaks for a while on this thing...

    Question She just dies??

So... I've had it in the shop now. It almost left me stuck in a bad part of town. Started cutting out after driving about 200 miles on the highway since the last time it acted up. It cut out a time or two and then the problem got increasingly worse. I barely made it off the highway and then it...

    Question She just dies??

Another question... Does the 6.0 have a cam position sensor (CPS)? I've been doing alot of reading and the 7.3 guys have the same symptoms due to CPS failure, but I don;t know if the 6.0 has the same deal. If it does, then where can I find info on replacement?

    Question She just dies??

Update... The problem seems to have gotten worse. Dying out several times each time I drive it and it's happening under every situation EXCEPT idling. She idles fine. So... I drained the filter (HFCM). It had less than 1/2 teaspoon of water in it, but there was some trash. So, I went ahead and...

    Question She just dies??

I've got what I think is a tough one for the 6.0 guys. I did some searching, but I didn't find anything that fit my issue... This happened for the first time yesterday while cruising at hwy speed. The engine just died and then fired back up about 3 seconds later before I could even react. It...

    slip joint

Yep. 2 different things... The carrier bearing is hard-mounted to the truck and the driveshaft runs through it. The slip joint is a splined joint in the driveshaft covered by a rubber boot between the carrier bearing & the rear diff. Check out this write-up... The first pic of the driveshaft...

    slip joint

I didn't find them online. The OEM clamps are a pain to get off and are usually destroyed when you do take them off for the next time. So, I figure a good quality zip-tie is a better option.

    sloppy shift from 1st-2nd

My 04 F350 does the same thing. I'm interested in what folks here think about why it's like that.

    Question Differential temps

Anyone know what the normal temperature range should be for the front & rear differentials? What would be considered too hot?

Question Would end link busings cause this?

Fixed!!! Thanks to bigrgr for pointing me in the right direction. The slip joint "clunk" seems to be a common problem. Took me 45 minutes to grease it. No big deal. Here's a great write up for the process with pics... Slip joint regreasing

Question Would end link busings cause this?

This is definately something in the drivetrain. Doing some more reading and I'm thinking the driveshaft splines are a prime suspect at this point, but mine has rubber boots over the splines. The boot clamps are the OEM kind you have to cut & replace. I guess I'll have to tear into it.

    slip joint

I'm chasing a driveline clunk. Miy driveshaft has rubber boots over the splines with the factory clamps that you have to cut off.

Question Would end link busings cause this?

I guess I'll have to check the splines. I took the sway bar off last week and still have the clunk. It's better, but not gone. I also changed the rear diff fluid this past weekend and that made it a little better too, but still not completely gone. My gut instinct tell me it's something in the...

Question Transfer case & diff fluid

I meant to ask this earlier... I've read on a couple posts about the limited slip diff "going bad". #1 - Is the limited slip diff standard equiip? #2 - Is there a way to easily determine if it's gone bad?

Question Would end link busings cause this?

Sounds like a good deal and I appreciate the offer. However, I am in a crunch for time, so I'll probably go with what I can get from the parts house for now. So... The OEM bushings are a bit of a pain to get out. How hard is it to install the new ones? Do the part houses actually know what...

Question Would end link busings cause this?

Is it worth the extra time & money to order energy suspension parts vs. buying whatever AutoZone, Advanced Auto, or Oreilly carries? How hard is it to get the old bushings out of the end links? They look to be pressed in.

Question Would end link busings cause this?

I've noticed a "bump" slowly getting worse over the past year. It happens after slowly pulling away from a stop, just after starting to roll. Like just when some power starts to get to the pavement. Fearing the worst (transmission issue) I took it to the tranny shop. Luckily for my wallet...

    Alternator

I got mine from XL Parts here in town. They actually supply OEM parts to all the area dealers. They had several options/manufacturers to choose from. I chose ACDelco over Motocraft becuase it was $204 instead of $216 and the delco had a lifetime warranty (Motocraft had only a 1 year). Pulled...

    Alternator

Already again??!! I have to do this again. It seems my new alternator (only a few months old) has crapped out already. Hmmmm.... I'll add a stick as a hood prop to keep the bumps off my head.

    Question Drippy A/C mess

Something that has bugged me for a while... The A/C on this truck seems to just drip undirected above the right fender well shroud. I know it's just condensation/water, but I don't like how it pours all over suspension parts all day. I'm in the Houston area where it's hot and nearly 100%...
