    My new used exhaust

Nice job! Looks like a good setup. I did something similar to that when I straight piped my factory exhaust before I put on my 4" duals. I loved the sound it made when the high idle kicked in. Sounds just like a jet engine. I bet my neighbor didn't like it much though! It's ok though since...

    manual hubs

I have never done anything special when I change my fuel filter in my 02. Just make sure you install the rubber o-ring style gaskets in the right spots. There should be instructions that come with the new filter if you need them.

    manual hubs

If you run your hubs with your hubs locked all you are doing is linking the front axles to the hub assemblies. Really driving with the hubs locked isn't much different than running your truck in 4wd all the time. Alot of the older trucks didn't have any hubs they just disconnected the 4wd...

    Leaking Torqshift

In that case I would get after the dealer to fix it. If there is a recall on it or related to it there should definitely be a TSB Repair bulletin.

    Leaking Torqshift

Where is the case cracked? Do you not have any factory warranty left? Only 51,000 miles? I thought the powertrain warranty (motor, transmission, rear end) was 5 years/60,000miles.

    coolant leak behind engine fan?

Jhondeerebones, I have used what they call the proper tool, snap-on fan removal kit and I also resort back to the trusty old wrench. I must always get the stubborn ones only 1 out of 5 ever comes off for me with just using a wrench. Maybe has something to do with that dam Canadian salt they...

    Leveling kit

Just to make sure I am understanding you correctly the blocks that are in it now are factory 2 inch blocks right? If so..... You shouldn't have to put a carrier bearing spacer in because you are really only lifting you truck a couple of inches. Most lift manufactures only recommend carrier...

    Does this sound right?

Maxtor, Something sounds a little fishy to me. My long box 02 has a 38 gallon tank. (147L) When mine reaches 1/4 tank I can usually squeeze 28 gallons in it. When my fuel light comes on (around an 1/8 of a tank) I can squeeze in 32 gallons. The last 1/4 tank in mine is definitely the...

    coolant leak behind engine fan?

I usually use a hammer and whack the wrench a couple times until it breaks free. I have taken them off before by also holding a fair amount of tension on the tensioner but most of the time they need a good whack on the wrench to crack them free.

    Leveling kit

The 3" blocks in the rear should level your truck out fine but if it were me I would go with a 3.5" or 4" block to give it a little bit of front end rake.

too many miles for many mods???

I can't see an intake, exhaust and/or chip hurting your higher mileage engine providing the engine is in good shape. The good thing about those 3 mods is that at least they are reusable with a new motor. I would say do the intake and exhaust and see how the motor and turbo like it then decide...

    coolant leak behind engine fan?

Arrowstrap, The last water pump I changed started to leak out the overflow hole in the front of the housing. I normally use a 1 7/8" wrench to remove the clutch fan but they do make a proper tool for it. A wrench works well as long as leave the belt on and remember it is reverse tread.

    Brake controller

Mine was strapped up beside the steering column right near the fuse panel. You will probably have to get a wiring loom in order to connect from the plug (factory wiring) to your brake controller. I bought a reese wiring loom from the local parts store when I connected mine.

Anyone towing with a lifted truck?

I tow stuff quite frequently with my truck. I use a 10" drop receiver that's rated for 500TW/5,000GTW and have never had any problems with it. I have had 7500lbs on that receiver without any problems. (truck on a tandem car trailer) My mistake I just looked at my drop receiver and it is...

    Aftermarket Bumper

I have a warn bumper on my 02 superduty and love it. It has pulled numerous different different trucks out over the last couple of years. I only have a 9000lb winch behind it but with a snatch block it has never let me down. Warn makes several different mounting assemblies including one for a...

    Tranny trouble

How's the fluid? When is the last time it was serviced? It sounds to me like you might have a problem with one of the valve bodies causing slow fluid transfer. How does it shift?

    Trans cooler

The cooler you can get the operating temp of the transmission the better. I run an aftermarket cooler (w/fan) along with the stock cooler plus an aftermarket transmission pan. My transmission temp usually runs around 110 degrees summer or winter. An aftermarket torque converter which will...

    Auto Tranny ?'s

I had the same problem when I was looking for a truck it seems not to many people buy sticks anymore. I found a few trucks that were standard but they all had high mileage and looked like they were constantly worked (5th wheel) so instead I settled for a mostly highway driven automatic. I got...

    350 higher than 250?

The 03 F350 springs should bring the front end of your truck up and should make it sit level front to rear. Most of the F350's sit a little higher (front and rear) than the 250's. I believe the spring count (# of leaves) is the same but they do have a different spring rate. (lbs needed to...

lifting my dually 4inch or 6inch any one know tires sizes

Lifted_up, Sorry. I should have explained myself better. I was trying to say that my 38x15.5's should be close to the same rolling resistance as a dually with 35's therefore I can't see that much of a fuel mileage difference compared to mine like Maintain's friend seems to be getting...

lifting my dually 4inch or 6inch any one know tires sizes

Maintain, True enough however my tires are wide (15.5") When I put my 35's on for the winter I actually get worse mileage due to the increase in engine rpm.
