    Trans Temp

Summit does sell the replacement sending units if you don't want to order it from autometer. My autometer gauge reads the same as Digital Oxygen's.

lifting my dually 4inch or 6inch any one know tires sizes

My truck running 38's and 4:56 gears averages 10-12mpg in town and 14-15mpg on the hwy. Those figures are on the imperial gallon. The fuel mileage did suck until I changed the gear ratio in my truck. The biggest mpg increase I noticed was in town rather than on the hwy.

    Auto Hubs!!!

ATK, When you have your truck in the 2wd mode, with the hubs in the auto position you should be able to spin the drive shaft and both axle shafts. The lock setting on the hubs is really just a manual override (back-up) for when the auto function doesn't work.

    Trans Temp

I would try a new sending unit and see if it cures your problem. I know autometer does make several different sending units so it is possible that you do have the wrong sending unit. I ran into this problem when I installed a replacement sending unit.

lifting my dually 4inch or 6inch any one know tires sizes

You should be able to fit 35's (possibly even 36's) on you truck with a 4 inch lift without any clearance issues on or off-road. I had 37's on my 2002 with a 6" inch lift and had no clearance problems on or off-road. If your truck is a daily driver I would go with a 4 inch lift.

Anyone make a 1" lift block for the rear of an F350?

Superlift makes a block kits starting at 1.5" Skyjacker makes blocks also starting at 2" Another option is to replace the factory block (if you have one, mine did it was 3 3/4" tall) with a 5" +/- block rather than stacking blocks. I had the same problem with mine when I added the 2" pro-comp...

    Intercooler

Alot of the 7.3 guys seem to be running the 6.0 intercoolers. Aparently they bolt in and they are 25% larger. Personally I think I'm going to go with the Banks intercooler and piping

    Offroad tires for my dually..

You should be able to fit 265/70R17's on your truck without any problems. If you want to run 285's you will have to use rim spacers so that they don't constantly rub sidewalls. In order to run the 265's you need at least 1.5-2" inbetween the tires that are on it now. To run 285's you need...

    Superduty pulling semi's

I have pulled a 16,000lb 4wd forklift out of 3ft of mud with my superduty. Mind you I did use a 'snap' strap to yank it out. My truck didn't even seem to break a sweat!

WHat is 97 crewcab dually worth?

It sounds a little over priced to me. I would condsider it if it were in the 8-9K range. But it is at a dealer so it is going a little over priced.

    New wheels

I thought way to much bling when I first bolted on my 20" wheels but since then I have grown to like'em. Personally I like a wheel that looks tough with no real fine detail to it.

    First oil change?

When my truck was new I also changed mine after the first 1000 miles and have changed it every 3000 miles since. I also tow a fair amount and if I'm not towing I am probably drivin' her hard. The way I look at it is Oil is cheap engines aren't.

Anybody using a 305/70 tire on stock rim 2wd?

Garydee, A 305/70 should be fine on an 8" inch rim. I have had 315/75's (35"x12.5") on my stock steel wheels without problems. (7.5" wheels) I ran 55 psi in the front and 45 psi in the rear and I had no problems with uneven tire wear. The 305's will give a much better ride and corner alot...

one of my friends is gettin' cocky and wants to pull w/ me

Travis, If I wasn't so far away I'd come to see ya just to teach him a lesson! My 38's and 4:56's in 4 low would teach him a lesson right quick!

BAMA, and anyone else, need info on brake upgrade

As long as the boots are good on the caliper slides just clean them, re-lube 'em and you should be good to go. None of the aftermarket slides seem to be as good as the originals. I would recommend using sil-guide instead of grease. Sil-guide is silicone based and seems to last a lot longer...

    Broken Transmission

I put a deep pan and extra cooler on my 4R100 when I had it rebuilt and it helped the operating temps alot. (at least a 25 degree drop) I don't know about the torque shifts (5R110's) but there are all kinds of valvebody updates to do when rebuilding a 4R100.
