BRRRRR! Another chilly night here -16C/3F now and supposed to get down to -19C/-2F
High of -10C/14F tomorrow and more snow on the way for the end of the week. :cold 3 :cold 4 :coat
Oh yeah, I should add that my garage consists of 4 polaris products. 2-4 wheelers and 2-snowmobiles which have all been problem free. (exept the stuff thats been self inflicted)
I own a 01 polaris scrambler 500 and have ridden a buddys 06 800 sportsman for a couple weekends. The power that the 800 put's out is awesome! My buddy's is bone stock and pulls the wheels at 35mph. I struggle to keep up to him on straights with my 500 but catch up in the trails due to the...
17 inch wheels makes it even harder to get the size that you want. However a 285/70R17 is a 33"x11.5" if that helps any. The reccomended rim width for that tire is 7.5"-9"
If it has the stock 245/70R17's (30.6"x9.8") on it right now you should be able to fit 265/70R17's (32"x10.9") any bigger...
I have only ever owned the older straight axle yota's. I used them for wheeling only and they took one hell of a beating before they broke. They lasted a hell of a lot longer than my full size chev!
You can buy spacers that go inbetween the dually rims to space the tires apart but I'm not sure where you can buy them. It's much easier to find 285/75's than 33x10.50's.
33x12.50's will touch/rub one another on stock wheels. What I would do is put 33x12.50's on the front and put 33x10.50's on the rear. The 10.50's should clear one another just fine. I've seen a couple trucks done like this the front end looks mean with the wider tires.
What you might have to...
I have never heard of a F250 dually not unless someone built it themselves. I don't see the point. The reason most people I know buy duallies is to have that extra stability when hauling heavy loads.
I don't know what it's like in the US but here in Ontario it can be a pain in the butt to...
A shackle and hanger kit is only good for the leaf spring front end. (99-04) It just relocates the front springs down lower. You could do a body lift to your truck but most of manufactures don't reccomend body lifts for diesel trucks. Another option would be to see how much it would cost to...
37's will probably hit backside of your fenders, inner fenders and front bumper skirt when turning. I had a 6 inch in my 02 and 37 inch irok super swampers just barely cleared. (I had to trim the front bumper skirt) In order to clear my 38's on 20x10 wheels I had to jump up to an 8 inch and...
It's one of the coldest nights we've had here this winter. Right now it's -18C/0F It's supposed to get down to -22C/-8F later tonight and a little windy too. I hope the truck start's in the morning!
I would go with the energy suspension poly mounts or buy the kit with the link bushings and keep them for spares. On second thought I think that energy mounts/links are only sold as a kit.
I'm at the south end of Lake Simcoe. We have about 8 inches on the ground and more in the forecast. Overall it's a bad year for plowing. Barrie and Orilla are getting it good though alot of snowsqualls.
Mine smokes like that too! It only seems to do it when the weather gets colder though. I'm kinda happy if it smokes a little blue during startup at least the cylinders are getting lubricated!
I was about $3500 by the time I had it rebuit, bought a good TC ($1000), fluid ($250), deep trans pan ($150), and cooler w/fan ($225)
I should add that I did the install myself.

Most diesels run like a bag of crap when they are cold because they are a heat motor. Mine is exactly the same way.
But when they warm up LOOKOUT! :burnit :burnit
