    Dually clearance lights

I did this with an Ford dually (93) I used the front lights as signals and marker lights and the rears as marker lights and brake lights. I got new bulb sockets that fit into the stock lenses that used two element bulbs. I used a 4 pin reese trailer wiring loom that plugs into the factory tail...

    LEGAL OR NOT EXHAUST

The laws here in Canada require it to still have the catalyic converter if it was factory equipped with one. The Police or the Mininstry of Transportation here don't seem to bother the diesel trucks or SUV's but they sure like to harass the hotrods.

    LEGAL OR NOT EXHAUST

I ran a straight pipe for a couple of years and never had any problems with the law. It also went through 2 emission tests and nothing was said. (visual and a smoke test) I had more problems when I installed my dual exhaust with a muffler than the straight pipe. (aparently it was louder!) I...

    clonking/thomping

Smokinsd, You replaced the sway bar end links did you also replace the sway bar mounts? Generally when the links are gone the mounts are too or not far behind. I have also seen the front and/or rear leaf spring pins shear off as well. Just a possibility.

New here and need some info. Picked up Used lifted 99 dually

I'm not sure what tank your dually is supposed to have in it but my 02 F350 SRW has a 32 gal tank. The sending unit depends on the size of the tank. It could be a defective sending unit. I know with mine when the fuel light comes on I have roughly 6 gal left.

    ABS for Fronts

Basicly but ABS is electronicly controlled each wheel has a ABS or speed sensor to help the computer determine what the wheel is doing from there it distributes brake pressure accordingly.

    3.5 downpipe?

I run a 4 inch downpipe and 4 inch the rest of the way back. (duals) 3.5 inch downpipe is not going to make any difference on your truck but 4 inch is you have is better. The 5 inch downpipe back is a little overkill but I bet ya it sounds good. The only thing I might do is kill the kitty but...

New here and need some info. Picked up Used lifted 99 dually

If it's not in one of the manifolds it is probably in the downpipe or one of the uppipes. Mine is post turbo and I try to keep it under 900 degrees for safety.

truck blowing whitish blue smoke (need help)

Sorry bushpilot. I should have said whiteish/grey meaning an unburnt fuel and water mixture. Black is defenitly excess fuel.

    clonking/thomping

My adjustable trac bar was around $230. My stock trac bar was not loose but I think it seemed to be binding. I have heard of the body mounts making noise but only if the loose or the bolts are broken. Also if the spring bushings were out of it the truck would wander all over the road. I'm...

truck blowing whitish blue smoke (need help)

Headgaskets? White is going to be either unburnt fuel or coolant and blueish is defenitley oil.

    No Grease fittings??

My stock 02 front differential u-joints didn't have grease fittings until I replaced them with greaseable aftermarkets.

What do you do for fun/recreation?

Wheeling (trucks and 4 wheeler), snowmobiling, tractor and truck pullin, wrenchin' on the PSD, And what ever else spare time allows!

    No Grease fittings??

None of the factory ford u-joints have grease fittings at least none that I've ever seen. Somebody must have already installed aftermarket replacements. Some driveshaft slip yokes are equipped with grease fittings. Mostly older stuff though.

    4X4 broke

If all the vaccum lines and pump is good then it's probably one of the front seals. 4wd hub o-ring, inner bearing/hub seal, or bearing o-ring. The inner seal is the most likely because it sees the most abuse.

    Lug-centric wheels on a hub-centric F-350?

jvencius, I have 20 inch mickey thompson classic lock wheels which are lug-centric and I have never had any problems. I believe the American Racing rims you are looking at are also lug-centric.

    Lug-centric wheels on a hub-centric F-350?

Ok it rides better to me but I like my trucks big. But they are not balanced and I have never had any vibrations even on the hwy at 80 mph.

    tire`s?

I run Pro-Comp all terrains (315/75's) in the winter overall they are a good tire and seem to last a long time. I agree BFG's don't seem to like the summer.

    clonking/thomping

I went through the same thing couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from and after checking everything else (bearings, ball joints, tierod ends, u-bolts, etc.) it was the only thing really left that was a moving component. Skyjacker, Superlift, and Pro-comp all make adjustable trac...

    Lug-centric wheels on a hub-centric F-350?

PS... get too crazy on tire size, NO tire store can balance them properly (I tell guys, "anything over a 285, and you might as well be riding on footballs") I have 38's on my truck and it rides better than it did with the stock 265's! And I didn't even bother balancing them!

    clonking/thomping

I had the same clunk in my 02 F350 after I installed my skyjacker lift. I later installed an skyjacker adjustable trac bar and the clunking noises disappeared. I think that the stock trac bar even with the relocation brackets doesn't keep the axle aligned properly especially when turning and...

    Wicked Wheel Quick ?

It kinda baffles me too! You would think a new comp wheel would throw it out of balance alot but lots of people do it and never seem to have any problems. :dunno

    2004 f350 4 by 4 front end question

I replaced my factory ball joints at around 120,000 miles with MOOG but have not had to replace any of the other steering components yet. Currently I have 185,000 miles on the truck. (mostly hwy)
