    exhaust leak???

Hopefully the clamp works but if not look for black soot chances are if you find the soot spot you found the leak. That's how I found a few leaks on my truck.

how much oil do you consume?

One to two quarts every 5000 miles is nothing to worry about. Mine usually goes through a quart about every 3000 miles.

    Anyone doing anything this weekend?

Made it to Sudbury, Ontario (260 miles one way) and ran on a small frozen lake with our snowmobiles. (boy I wish it would snow!) 1st pass with the radar gun I ran 105 mph and had a couple more passes at 103 mph. (03 polaris xcsp700) Not bad condsidering it is bone stock and has over 5000 miles...

    BD Exhaust Brake Question

Free or very cheap is the best way to have it. Bama, even if you didn't like it you could always re-sell it.

Got a couple of noob questions about upgrading 6.0..

I have 3 pillar mounted autometer gauges. (egt, trans temp, and boost) If you are seriously condsidering gauges it isn't much more money to go with a 3 gauge pillar package. A transmission temp guage is also important depending on how serious you want to get with your truck.

    exhaust leak???

I have had problems in the past with the band clamp at the turbo not sealing up properly. The new down pipe had a little ding in the flange.

    Just a thought.....rack and pinion??

Most rack and pinion units are not big enough for that truck but they do make hydraulic ram steering kits for the superdutys and excursions. I beileve that the kits are called "rock rams" summit racing has them on their website. The extra movement in the steering wheel could be wear in the...

Got a couple of noob questions about upgrading 6.0..

AlaskanSD, A turbo-back kit is from the turbocharger back. It comes with a new downpipe (pipe right at turbo) which is bigger dia than the OE one. Most turbo-back kits retain the stock cat but you can buy cat delete pipes. (test pipes as we call them!) I am not sure how axing the converter...

    Ahhh! Broken rear axle!

If it's the spider gears or side gears you need to replace all 4 gears. (2 spider gears, 2 side gears) It's also a good time to inspect and/or repair the posi clutches. It's a hell of a lot easier to fix a broken axle than the spider gears!

Got a couple of noob questions about upgrading 6.0..

Before you put a tuner to it I would recommend intake, exhaust and gauges. (at least an egt gauge) If you put a tuner on it first without the extra intake and exhaust flow chances are egt temps will rise quickly under light acceleration. Bama just put a new Banks air filter system on his 04...

    7.3 TERRIBLE MILEAGE!

I run a 8" lift, 38's with 4.56 gears with my 02 ext cab longbox with a superchips tuner on the tow-performance setting (middle) and get 16-18 hwy, 12-14 intown, and 10-12 pulling a 7500lb trailer. The re-gearing of my truck helped the most. (to bring the balls back!)

    Lucas Oil Products???

Interesting.....This might change my mind a little bit on the lucas oil additive. If this is true after running your engine with additive and then changing the oil right away would it not come out frothy or foamy? I have never seen any of these symptoms. Not in gear oil either. I don't know...

    Lucas Oil Products???

I have used the lucas oil stabilizer/additive, feul treatment and transmission additive in my 02 7.3L (when I had trans problems) I have used the oil stabilizer in just about every vechile I own and I find that it helps. The transmission additive helped me get another 3 months out of already...

SCT xcal2 or Bully dog triple dog?

That's the reason I like my bullydog fully adjustable on the fly. It really depends on what you want but I would reccomend something that is fully adjustable on the fly.

    4" downpipe and manual transmissions......

I've made headers fit that way before! It sounds like it's nothing a little heat and a hammer can't fix! Is the clutch assembly/fork not on the drivers side? (pivot?)

    Towing - Straight Pipe

I had a 3.5" straight pipe from the turbo back before I installed my 4" dual kit. With or without a load on the truck at highway speeds you could barely notice it. I found with the straight pipe you hear more of a turbo whistle than a rumble. Interior noise was about the same as my current...

    4" downpipe and manual transmissions......

It should work fine. No? The bellhousing on the automatics is roughly the same size as the standard. Where are the clearance problems or did they say?
