    flashing airbag dash light

My 01 F250 has had the code 27 for the past year, it started right after I bought the truck and I still have it. I tried the fix found here: airbag light - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums But it didn't work for me....Hope you have better luck with it. I have just learned to live with the...

Front Suspension "Thumping Noise" when offroad

It could be your shackle bushings. When they get worn it will allow the spring to hit the frame which will be a dull thump that you can feel as well as hear. Bushings are a LOT cheaper to replace than ball joints!!!! Good luck, Hal

    Oil observations?

Don't know about the Castrol or Motorcraft, I don't use them. But, I do use Rotella 15w-40 and haven't noticed any difference in the old oil and the new. I have several 1 qt bottles of the 'old Rotella' and usually buy the 1gal containers as needed so they are the new formula and I can't tell...

    ceramic or not?

I'm using pads and rotors from O'Reilly Auto, the ones with the 'life time replacement' warrenty. They beat the Advanced Auto price and had a better warrenty. So far no problems. Raybestos makes good brake pads, I have used ther pads on other vehicles and been pleased with the results.

    Synthetic Oil Filters

No scientific proof but when I switched from using K&N oil filters to Purolater Pure1 filters my oil seemed to stay cleaner longer. I have used Purolater filters for years in my gas trucks and cars, all with synthetic Mobil 1, don't know why it took so long for me to try them in my SD????? I...

Add A Leaf leveling kit question.

Putting in an add-a-leaf isn't hard and the new, longer, center pin is usually all that you need. Just remember that you are working on a BIG heavy truck and it is going to take more effort to bust the nuts and bolts loose!! A couple of large C-clamps would be handy to clamp the front springs...

    CCV Mod issues

Thanks guys. I understand HOW to do the mod from the engine back to the tank, it's the part about tieing it into the exhaust that I was wondering about. I may not worry about that and just terminate it in front of the tank as bdrummonds suggested, an Alabama boy can't be wrong...especially one...

    CCV Mod issues

I have a question about this mod. The CCV is on the drivers side and the exhaust is on the passenger side so, at what point under the truck do you route the hose to tap into the exhaust? I would think you would always want the hose to be 'falling' so that any oil that comes out of suspension...

    HUB BEARING

The hub isn't a hard fix if the 13/16 nuts that hold the hub onto the axle housing break loose. I used an airgun on mine and had no problem but, I have heard of guys that had a ***** of a time getting them loose. Be sure to buy new studs for the hub, they are cheap and a LOT easier than...

Code 27 LED help, which bulb???

Ok, I've been getting the dreaded 'code 27' flashing airbag light for long enough, so, I decided to do the LED fix. I found some great threads on how to do the fix, it sounded simple enough so off to Radio Shack I went to get an LED bulb. Well, wouldn't you know, I couldn't find a 12 volt LED...

    Turning off back up lights

bushpilot, I think he wants to put a switch on his stock lights not on a set of 'add on' lights. I think a set of back up lights on the back of my camper would really help when backing at night. Has anyone ever tried that? Using your diagram as a guide I just may try it.

    Brake Controller Connecter under dash

Man that brake controller plug under the dash is a real pain to get at. Ford could have put it on the left side of the dash support and it would have been a LOT easier to get to. My truck didn't come with the two 30 amp fues under the hood needed to activate the controller. We pluged my new...

Stephen, It's the Coosa Mart on Hwy 31 in Pelham/Alabaster close to where the old Wal-Mart use to be. It is a very small station with one diesel pump that has a green biodiesel sticker on it. There was an article in the Birmingham News the other day about bio and how several of the cities in...
