Soft Bed tonneau cover, velcro or button

Bama, I had the buttons on my first cover. This was good until winter and the cover shrank a bit due to cold weather making the snaps very difficult to use. I now have the Velcro - much better in cold weather. Butch Cassidy

    No BAILOUT for big 3

I'm sorry, but after decades of repeated blowing chances to produce more fuel efficient / hybrid vehicles, I feel very insulted that the big 3 want a 25 billion loan to help them. I say let them go under!!! If 25 billion of the taxpayers' money is to go anywhere - let this money go to...

    Cackle Noise

I minimized my cackle by the above mentioned items. I also installed a fuel return system from the cylinder heads back to the tank. The oem setup has the fuel rails deadended to each cylinder head. This is not good for any trapped air pockets in the fuel rails as this air has no place to go...

    Diesel prices are falling.

Yep, Here in the Northeast, this upcoming heating season is getting more attention on the nightly (and this is in August!)news as more people will be pushed to or over the financial edge. Yes, diesel is high, but going w/o heating oil for the winter is a more serious concern. Butch Cassidy

Thinking of trading in your diesel on gas??

As far as using our trucks as a daily driver - no hauling or towing, which they excell at, I'm hearing the screams from other PSD owners at the fillup pump. These owners, like me, love and enjoy driving our rigs, but we talk about how increasely difficult to keep using as a daily driver...

Thinking of trading in your diesel on gas??

More like diesel HAD a history of being cheaper than gas. I'll be surprised if those conditions (diesel cheaper than gas) return. The global markets, big oil will pretty much insure the era of cheap oil is over. Keeping your PSD in the driveway, parked is not a waste at all. You, as a...

    sythn. oils

15-w-40 year round. I winter camp in N.H. - temps run -15 / -22 below zero. I cycle the g.p. 2x, the PSD fires right up. I tried the synthetics in the engine - can't justify the price. Butch Cassidy

comment The T Boone Pickens Plan

At least he has a plan, the politicians don't. we need all forms availible to us: wind, geothermal, solar, nuclear, coal, natural gas, biofuels, etc. Also we need more efficient vehicles, state of the art mass transportation and updated power grid system through out the country. If we can get...

    10.9 is getting old.

Yes, The 6.4 is quieter than the old 7.3, however the 7.3 will always get better mpg than the 6.4. The 6.4 has alot of emissions controls, that the old 7.3 doesn't have. While your have a quieter, more clean burning engine - it comes w/ an expense - more fuel used. In todays' soaring...

Thinking of trading in your diesel on gas??

Yep, Like the saying goes "that way then - cheaper fuel prices, this is now - getting royally screwed @ the diesel pump. Mine will stay parked in the driveway - used only to haul the camper or tow the trailer. The days of using the PSD as a daily driver are over. Butch Cassidy

    Kill A Watt

CRUMM, Picked up one about 3 months ago, and it does do as claimed on monitoring juice used on household appliances. Both my wife and I suspected the 2 reefers were energy hogs (approx 6 yrs old), turns out they were not the culprits. We run a HEPA air cleaner in the bedroom, and 3...

    Door lock problem

bobby, Check out the wiring connections - for tightness, corrosion. I ran into a simular problem w/ my door locks - turned out to be a loose switch connector. I cleaned up the connector contacts, made sure I had a good solid connection upon reassembly and all is well. Butch cassidy

    Fuel Mileage............

21 -maybe 22 mpg - 50 mph, cruise on, a/c off, no weight in truck, even took off the tail gate. Mileage is good, ride is boring @ 50 mph. Butch Cassidy

    Question What improve your MPG

Go very easy on the go pedal. Lighten the truck as much as possible. Use cruise control. Keep tires properly inflated and aligned. Keep highway speeds to 60 mph. Butch Cassidy
