    Fd-4604?? Fd-4609??

The 4609 is correct and verified by my parts guy at my regular Ford Dealership Parts Counter. You do not need to remover any fuel lines to access the filter. Here's what I do on my truck. Since you have to change both filters at the same time start with the engine mounted filter. Using...

    Fd-4604?? Fd-4609??

The owners manual is wrong. The same thing happened on my dad's 08 F250 at the first fuel filter service. We went by the manual and had an extra filter kit for my 6.0 liter on hand. As soon as we opened the engine mounted filter housing we knew something wasn't right, because the 6.4 filter...

2.5 or 3.5 Stock Rear Block

The truck in my signature has a 3.5" rear block. I believe all 350 SRW's came with the 3.5" block except Duallys which came with 2.5" blocks. Additionally all 250's came with 2.5" blocks.

    202500 miles on my 07

Great to see a Ford SD and more importantly a 6.0L diesel standing up to hard work and proving that the engine can go the distance. By the way, what do you use the truck for to have collected that many miles in such a short time period, and do you have any pictures of your set up?

    what do i do

If I am reading it correctly you have to pay an extra $100 if you purchase the warranty after the first 12K miles. Notice the asterisk is by the price for both plans.

    what do i do

You don't say what year the truck is...If I were you I would inquire about the extended warranty that Ford has been offering to 7.3/6.0/6.4 Diesel owners, which extends the warranty to 7 years/200,000 miles. The warranty I speak of has to be purchased within the 5 year/100,000 mile period of...

SuperDuty Tow & Transport Pics (What Are You Pulling Out There)

Finally got the picture posting thing figured out so here's one to add to the collection... The trailer belongs to my parents. It's a 2002 BRI-MAR 6' x 10' Dump Trailer with a 10,000 lb. GVW. It's been a real workhorse and been used so much more than we ever anticipated. I have more...

Can VIN Tell How Truck was Optioned?

At one time I spoke to my buddy at the Ford dealership parts counter about a truck and he was able to use the VIN number to tell me how the truck was optioned. I remember this because he found out that a truck I was looking at had the dual alternators option. If you have a Ford dealer that you...

SuperDuty Tow & Transport Pics (What Are You Pulling Out There)

Referring to your scale ticket and assuming your trailer is 1300 lbs. that would make your truck about 6580 lbs. Your Tare weight is what you are subtracting your trailer from to get your truck weight. The weight of your truck seems right to me. My 6.0 350 XLT 4wd CC LB weighs 7620 lbs. with...

I am trying to select a winch to mount on my flatbed trailer. I have never owned a winch before so I don't know if Warn, Superwinch, T-Max, Ramsey, or Mile Marker are equal or if one is better than the others.:dunno The trailer already has dual Optima batteries to power the hydraulic tiltbed...

    04 6.0 as daily driver

IMO, the trucks that seem to have more problems are the trucks that are toys that aren't driven as much. Diesels need to be run and even a 30 minute drive will be good for it, even better is that you will get some good long distance time on the weekends running at highway speeds. I would...

    Found 500 ppm FUEL!!!!!

I believe California and a few other states required a complete change over to ULSD by 2007, but the majority of the U.S. has until 2010 to complete the change over. I also heard just the other day that by 2012 all Off Road engines like construction equipment, farm equipment, boats...

    Auxiliary Idle Controller

No, you aren't crazy. The Auxiliary Idle Controller (AIC) was originally offered by Ford for various diesel trucks and vans. The AIC ties into the factory harness for the ECM and allowed the user to control the idle while the vehicle was stationary to run lights, pumps, and whatever else you...

Yes, it can be done on 03-07 6.0's as well as the 6.4's. The only difference is the color of the wires.

    Help Needed 5R110 Flush

I have read about the flush procedure in my 2003 Ford shop manual and the 5R110 trans fluid flush as ford expects it to be done requires a machine that they have at their dealerships. In your owners manual under the service interval listings for 35,000 miles (I just hit this mileage so it's...
